While cutting the vegetables sometime you will find worm in them. Due you cut the worm portion of the vegetable and use it for cooking or throw away the whole vegetables?

We take very much care while purchasing the vegetables itself, that they are very good. Most of the vegetables can be verified from the outer look itself. Even after that, if we find some worm, we will throw out the entire vegetable and will not try to use a part of it. I believe even if a part of the vegetable is infected by a worm, then the entire vegetable will not be good to eat.

Oh heavens no, I would think all fruit and vegetables have worms and bugs climbing over them all the time, this is why you have to wash them so if you find anything on a fruit or vegie you just get rid of whatever it is and thoroughly wash the item concerned...

Hi there. I would naturally cut that worm part off, check the fruit or vege all over good and the give it a good thorough washing so that I can cook it... I will not waste food just for a little bug...

I cut out the worm portion and wash it thoroughly and then cook it by deep frying or steam cooking. Isn't that safe? Any suggestions or advice?

I cut out the worm portion, wash the vegetable thoroughly thrice and then cook the vegetable. Do you have any suggestions or advice for me in this regard. Since it is deep fried by us in India or steam cooked we think there's no risk. Is that correct?

Hi, alokkarn, We also do the same thing. I am also from India. No risk involved in your method of cooking.
