Hillary Clinton is complaining about President Bush commuting Scooter Libby's jail sentence being commuted. Her husband sold pardons to real criminals. Did she forget ab out the Mid night pardons just before her husband left office. On January 20, 2001 President Clinton pardoned 138 people including Susan McDougal for unspecified crimes. The pardons included drug dealers, making false statements to a grand jury, Armed bake robbery, bribing a federal offical, Security and Exchange crimes of fraud, and interestingly is the number of people connected to the Whitewater Affair. All 138 people got a new clean slate after being convicted by a jury. All President Bush did was remove the Jail sentence but kept the conviction. Hillary has a problem and that is she doesn't know when she istelling the truth or when she is not because she makes up everything to suit her need at the time. Just look at some of the lies she has been caught in.

Libby lied, and is clearly protecting Cheney and others. It's one thing to sell pardons, but to pardon someone who can implicate your administration is a cover-up. It's not the pardon so much as that the administration gets away with breaking the law by setting up a fall guy and then pardoning him. This administration is a disgrace that thankfully will be over soon (though not soon enough).

Using your reasoning President Clinton was covering up the Whitewater Affair when he pardoned Susan McDougl and others in the Whitewater/Savings and Loan scandle. The selling of the Highest Office in the land is very close to Treason.

The cover up of abuse when in power is different, to my mind, then any alleged illegality outside of office. Susan McDougal was hounded by Ken Starr, as part of a multi-million Republican-instigated witch hunt, paid for by the tax-payers that came up with nothing. Bush, Rove, Cheney et al have been using dirty tactics to gai power, smear opponents,

Ok, he wasn't pardoned, but had his sentence commuted. But you know what I mean

Ronald Reagan pardoned 393 including and 13 commutations. George Bush pardoned Caspar Weinberger accused of lying to Congress about the arms-for-hostages deal. As a result of the pardon the senior members of Reagan's administration including the senior Bush could keep their involvement secret. Reagan also pardoned George Steinbrenner who made illegal contributions to the Nixon compaign. So now, what is the point of finger pointing?

The point is that it is the Constitutional Right of every president and Hillary makes it sound like he is the only one who does this type of thing. She stated today that his commuting the sentence is an admission of guilt on his part. Using that logic President Clinton is guilty of Whitewater Crimes because he Pardoned one of the key figures, Susan McDougle. President Bush has not sold any pardons.

What do you mean "sold"?

President Clinton received "donation" to his library from reletives of some of the people he pardoned. Hillarys Brother handled the leagle work for their appeal for a pardon and even for a lawyer the fee was outragious.

Apparently she forgets that her husband didn't serve any time or the exact same conviction also.

Yes Bob, that is so true. Democrats are such hypocrites and cry babies. I also think President Bush should pardon those Border Patrol Agents who were just doing their job. If anything, I would better arm the Border Patrol because of the filth they must deal with out there. I would also increase the cooperation needed with the Border Patrol and other law enforcement agencies.

I agree. I think he should lose his attorney license for trumping up false charges. I also think Libby should sue for libel and other damages.
