Ratatouille!

I love ratatouille (French stew). I think mine is pretty good. It is good over rice or coucous...as long as couscous if prepared in the proper way, meaning rehydrating does not cut it. Do you like it, too? Are you going to see the new movie called, "Ratatouille"....or not? It looks great! I was supposed to go see it over the weekend and did not get to. So...we are going to see it on the 4th of July. I can't wait!

I've never had the food, but I'd love to see the movie. It looks funny and it has gotten consistently good reviews. Reviews don't mean everything, but they sure help. I think anyone who can make a cute movie about a rat should be given an award.

You are so right! And I bet the internet is buzzing with people looking for the recipe after they see the film.

I never even thought of that, but you're right. I bet some people will be hitting some blogs really soon looking for that and all its variations.

Now there is a dish that I like as well and can you believe it I didn't have to ask you what it was! lol! No I haven't seen the movie yet, Joep doesn't like going to the cinema, he get's irritated, with people talking and fiddling with sweet wrappers ect... So I will have to buy the DVD or wait till it comes off circuit and rent it from the video store. But please come and tell what you thought of it, once you've seen it!

That's funny! My husband does not like to go to the movies either because he says he falls asleep. Nobody else that I know of wants to see the movie or I would hat a Ratatouille party. First we go to the movie, and then we come back home for my ratatouille, couscous, and my homemade french bread.

I love ratatouille too. I've never had anyone else's to compare mine with, but I think it's great. My husband loves it too. I usually have it with french bread, but the couscous would be a nice change. That's so funny you would mention couscous, as I've been thinking about it. I haven't had it for a long time, and I was thinking of making it. Now I'll have to make the ratatouille with the couscous. Have fun at the show tomorrow. I haven't been out to the movies in ages.

I am 46 now, and I have not been to the movies since I was in my 30's, so I am very excited about going. Ratatouille with couscous and French bread is even better. I love to make French bread. The best way to make couscous is with a couscousiere. It beats the instant stuff any day. It is then quite addictive. When I first got married and made instant couscous, my husband tasted it and looked at me as if I was from outer space. He said, "This is raw!" lol

I just did a discussion on my movie experience. It was wonderful. Even the theatre seats are on a bent so that if there is someone in front of you their head is not in your way, and the seats move...and they have a dispenser so that you can put your own butter sauce on your pop corn...as much as you want. What an experience!

I hope you're having a great time out at the movies. It's been far too long for you. I think the only couscous I've ever had has been instant. Now I'm going to have to go out to find the real stuff.

I liked Chili (HORMEL) over white rice.. does this come in a can? I don't cook..but I can open a can of something..and put it over Uncle Bens Converted Rice.or instant rice.. I like Oatmeal too..that I can cook..and I add raisins or aa few fried eggs..yummo.. mostly my wife cooks..she has worked in a couple of restaurants..and can cook about anything..especially Indian cuisine, and Asian too..American is easy for her..but as long as their is a recipe she can follow it..most of the time..even a hot dog or a hamburger is good if it is prepared well.

Not only do you have to be careful with thrift shop food, you now have to worry about foods from dollar stores. There was just a report on TV today talking about high levels of benzene in some off-brand soft drinks. Be especially careful of food products made in China also. Lloyd
