I find this site really interesting. You start out with a nation based on a few questions on where you stand on political issues. Then the nation evolves from there based on your choices about additional issues.
I enjoy watching the description of my nation change as I make more choices. I recommend this site. People use it in schools, do roleplaying, and for fun. Check it out at:

Yea nation states is alot of fun if u roleplay on the forums. I like how u have left vs right and also the different technologies. My nation is soviet leaders and it is future tech

I haven't noticed the technology side to it, I'll have to look for that. My nation is big on civil right, to an extreme and also tends to be hugely into ecology. Unfortunately, the two together mean my economy is completely dysfunctional. I find it interesting to see how sticking to ideals is often unworkable on a practical level. I haven't done any of the role playing, it just doesn't interest me much.
