Are You An Introvert Or Extrovert?

I am definitely an introvert. I like to be at home where it is quiet. This is where I shine. I don't like crowds and I don't like to be the life of the party. I like to have one friend over at a time, that way I can give them my full attention. Most of the things that I enjoy are things that one does at home like, reading, writing, surfing the web, posting on Mylot, studying new things, I watch the occassional rented movie. I love to talk on the phone with friends and family. When I go out I like to visit people and shop, other than that, it's just to do the things that I have to do. Like going to doctors appointments and such, but mainly I like to be home.

My husband is introverted and I am extroverted. He is quiet and likes staying home too and I'm bubbly, noisey LOL and love socialising with friends and family. I don't mind big crowds as long as I am having fun with whoever I am with. After living with him so long, I have gotten use to staying home and doing things there as opposed to going out and socialising with friends. I prefer just the three of us nowadays and don't miss the party life/social life at all.

This simply means that you guys are balanced, which is very good in a marriage. You know, they say that opposites attract.

I lean toward being an introvert. But I dislike putting myself into one catagory or another. Labels are silly and I just want to be me. I don't want to compare myself to others or what is the standard. I can identify with your lifestyle and think it is great...all because it is yours and you can be anything you want.

I understand have you feel about labels, it is easy to stereotype when you put labels on a person. But it is also a way of getting to know a person. If I have a friend who I want to surprise and I know that she is an introvert, I will not invite her to a wild party. Whereas, if I have a friend who is an extrovert, they probably wont find sitting at my place playing board games very exciting.

Yes, I agree. It's nice to know of our personality but whatever the comparison to others, its nice to be us, and be yourself!

Okay, so sometimes you are a wild and crazy kind of person and then at other times you are kind of a smooth laid back mellow type. That's cool. All depends on your mood right?

I am an introvert and like some of the same things you do. However, I work at home now and miss the daily interactions that I had with other people when I didn't work at home. It is nice to have the opportunity to meet new people occasionaly and I don't really have that now and being an introvert makes it harder.

I understand what you are saying. It is not so hard to deal with new people when you are in a place that you are familiar with. I just hate feeling bombarded by too many people at once. I feel like I want to run and hide when that happens.

I must be a introvert to then. I have never been the life of the party. I have always stayed a lot to myself. I like to read also. Go on mylot. I hardly ever go out to much or unless it is to get groceries or to the doctors. I have always been a stay at home kind of person.

I am more of an introvert. Introverts tend to be quiet, low-key, deliberate, and relatively non-engaged in social situations. I take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, drawing, watching movies, listening to music. I enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people . TI prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before I participate.

I am the same way. I do not like to be in the midst of too many people. I feel like the more people there are the more likely it will be that confusion will start. I do not mind a few small group or one on one situations a day, but I need to get away and have my quiet time or I begin to feel over-whelmed.

I'm definitely an introvert, but there are sometimes when I want to go hang out at parties and just be around people. I guess I get so bored being by myself that I need interaction, but nothing beats a quiet day at home, writing, reading, or even sleeping.

I am a bit of both...I like socialising but also enjoy my "alone" time. I used toove going out three nights a wekk but now I find I am just as content staying at home or just spending time with my partner, or meeting up with a couple of friends rather than partying with many.

I'm introvert too but not too deep.sometimes I need to interact with my friends, share my sad and happines because I belive that if we talk to somebody especially friends about our problem it would decrease the burden of my problem.I like to stay at home than go out if there no interest/important thing to do out of home.

You sound just like me. I don't like to go to parties even dinner parties surrounded by those I know. I prefer one friend at a time - giving them my full attention. I don't like crowds - nor do I like malls or stores even when not crowded - sensory overload! Especially places like Walmart or Costco. I get my energy recharged being by myself - and now with my baby. Reading, surfing, singing, dancing - studying new things.

I completely understand where you are coming from. Sensory overload can be overwhelming. I need time to get away from it all and think clearly. I do not like a lot of noise.

You are so much like me. I am a homebody. I am the most comforatble at home, curled up on he couch with a book or writing or on the computer. I dislike being in large crowds and I don't care anything about being the life of the party. I'm a bit shy until I really get to know someone. I also don't care for having lots of friends. All I need is a few really good, trusted friends. I have never been one for going out with lots of friends, easier to deal with one or maybe two.

This is me exactly. When I have friends over, I like to see to their every need and it is hard to do that when there are too many people. Like my best friend came over today for the first time in a week and she was saying that it was to warm in my apartment, so I went out and bought a fan. If there was anybody else, they would have been to cold with the fan on. I know how to adjust to keep my company comfortable, but I can not have too many over at a time, it's too much of a hassle.

As for me, I'm an extrovert . I would never keep my real intentions in the dark in all my dealings with friends and acquaintances. After all why do you hold anyone in suspense about your real intentions . I want everyone to be quite explicit in outlook . I'm not optimistic about my outlook .

I consider myself introvert, though I could be extrovert sometimes. I am not the type who is fond of social life unless I have to. To familiar people, I am extrovert, but to the unfamiliar, I am introvert.
