I have shingles and I am just so miserable. It hurts and I feel sick. Anyone else had them and if so how did you manage the symptoms?

Aw, shingles, I know those can be really bad. I didn't have them, but my younger sister did, and she said it really hurt, it was definitely worse than chicken pox. I guess the best thing is to wear really loose clothes, so that the clothes don't rub off on the shingles and cause more discomfort, I hope it's not too bad for you and you're already on the oral medication as well as the lotion and stuff. My sister lost so much weight during this, and we tried to make her laugh all through and just entertain her, and then she would laugh and abruptly stop as one of her shingles would burst while laughing. Now we have a good laugh about that. But I guess all you could do is just relax and try to have a good time, with people around you, since it's not contagious, watch some good TV, and that's it, just brave it out..

I only have a really mild dose so I am trying not to complain too much, but its the most unbearable pain. Some weight loss would be a bonus, maybe I could start enjoying the pain lol.

Well, thankfully it's just a mild case. I'm guessing it must be much better now. But you really do need the medicine, the lotion as well. My sister had one too, prescribed by the doctor of course. Hope you feel better soon.

After i went to Dr and had it checked out, the only thing that helped me was a regular application of anti-hystimine cream. This took away the itch that made me feel sick and so i could sleep blessed be

I only have a small area with the blisters but the thought of putting anything on them fills me with horror because they hurt so much. I wonder if I took anti-histamine orally like benadryl if it would help.

Try Zynoxin, a two-part system that relieves many of the symptoms associated with shingles from both the inside out and the outside in. To experience the optimal results of Zynoxin, you'll take advantage of this 2-part system by taking the twice-daily capsule, which attacks your irritation, inflammation, burning pain, and extreme itching at the source, and the topical solution to soothe and revitalize your skin on contact.

You need to take this medication within 24 hours of the first symptom. Unfortunately I suffered for a week before I realised it was shingles.
