I think, the audience or public is the best judge possible. It is the public, who ultimately feels the real charm of any song and musical composition in any competition. Unless public interest for deciding matters on such facts is taken into account, we can never find impartial decision on these specific creative matters. It is often said, "Art is meanigless unless it is appreciated by human beings." So any form of art, to be recognised as an excellent work, it must have very good public chioce all time. It is not that few professional persons will decide and the entire society will have to accept. Rather the society(public) / audience must have the equal approval for deciding songs / musical compositions in competitions. Thanks.

yes that is very true but, do you think that public has the perfect ability to judge a particular song.I mean the nodes, the sur,the taal etc.It cannot be forgotten that public sometimes votes for some wrong political leaders.

I think the composers(producers) because they have been in the industry maybe longer than the singers. I mean a singer nowadays could be 11 years old. What do they kno about the business. ya kno? So definitely that producers.

It doesn't actually matter that much i believe...In indian idol, javed akhtar is as good as anybody. I would have liked to see sonu nigam there, but still anybody who understands music, who knows the art, who has any significant connection with the art can judge. But if you tell me to choose among the two, i would definitely prefer a singer more than a composer...

Actually both are required, however I think the priority goes to a singer as he or she is more qualified in understanding the rag/ tal or whatever including the voice throw and the diction. A composer is also qualified, but even then i think the singers are more qualified to judge.

composer are better judges than singers. I don't give to public as public can't understand the up and downs of taal, rythm. only 10-15% of the people can make out the difference. Rest all the people's vote by the external beauty , their behaviour, their looks and i mean it. u have got lot of examples in indian idol, i think so. in every line, whether it is movie, singing or any business, the person involved in these activities, are all interdependent, but judges are judges. there is no role of interdependancy in judging the singing quality
