It's hot

United States
July 5, 2007 5:14pm CST
I thought for fun I would complain about the sun. It's hot out here. It's been over 116 degrees. They want us to keep your air at 80 in the house. Even that is hot. I hate the summer. I don't even know what snow or rain is anymore. So, if any of you want to send your weather to me, I will send you are our furnace weather back in exchange. Please name your country and tell me the tempurature there? And the state, if in the USA.

Hi there, LOL! it seems like that a lot of people in this discussion find their own town boring! Why is that so? By the way, i find my town, Sydney in Australia very boring as well =.=

Wow! That's hot! It's in the 80's here, but humid. The humidity is something we always seem to have to deal with in the summer. If the humidity were low, it would feel really good. I live in VA.

Hi Margie..long time no talk!!! Life has been a bit hectic with my work. It is almost full time now and I'm doing a block of study for it as well so I just pop in here on the odd occaision. Back to your discussion...it is quite cool here in Tasmania (Australia) We had a bit of snow on the mountains around our town only last week. I'm not sure what the temp is in F degrees but it is about 0 - 10 Celcius lately. I am hoping for a short winter and a very long spring...(I wish)

I am in Michigan and it is about 80. We have had a day or two in the low 90's and some days in the 70's. Well I guess hot meals are out of the question for you...lol. I don't think I could handle those temps all summer long, or even for more than a few days. I will send you a few ice cubes to help keep you cool. Sorry, I can't email them to you...lol

I have always liked the fall weather. Ok here's our weather as of right now in Tennessee it's 90 degrees and we are suppose to have some rain coming but I don't see it coming. Oh bless your heart try to stay calm and cool. Take care my friend.

It is hotter where I live, then the news says. We are not on the map yet. Can I have your 90? It was over 122 on my porch, I had to bring in the thermometer so it would not burst.

Hi Margie,Here in upstate NY we have had rain with thunder and lightning. Our fireworks display was cancelled on the 4th due to rain but did go off last night. No thanks to the above 100 heat.Been there done that..used to live in Mojave Desert so know what you have going on.The only good thing was that you don't get the oppressive humidity! xoxoxoxoxo

This is a cooler year for us, and we have not officially reached 100 degrees in my town. Some of the banks have recorded that temp, but if you listen to the weather, it hovers around 96-100. Usually we would have had a week or so at those temps. It is just about 9:30 a.m. and my back porch is 72 F. How do you come to live in the desert if you hate that weather? I admit, I would not enjoy it. I think we should bundle up your dry heat and send it to the Gulf Coast for SK South. The weather man says other temperatures at official sites are up to around 87 degrees. He is predicting 90 to mid nineties today in our viewing area. I know it would feel downright cool to you. Do you ever get tired of being told "It's a dry heat, though."? I have been through Arizona in the summer, and moist or dry heat, it is hot and that is all there is to it. My thoughts are with you, dear. I remember hearing temps for your area in the 90's when we had winter here.

Remember though...that's celcius, right? Still way chilly but not like icy. My hubby goes to school in Wollongong and is visitng hoem right now for "winter break". When he left Australia it was chilly and cold and then he arrive in the midwest USA to 90+ degrees and 90 percent humidity. we did here though that NSW is finally getting some of the rain they needed.

Well I don't think you would want me to send my weather to you either...it's not quite as hot here as where you are, but hot enough in the baked apple of NY--it just finished raining but instead of cooling it down, only made it feel more like a steambath....I wish it were October already!!

Hi margie, I live in Michigan, where it is about 85F degrees But it is really humid. It's not warm enough to use the A.C. It has to be a least 90F degrees to even start the A.C. Good thing is that the thought of rain has loomed over us all day. So the Sun wasn't out today. Otherwise it would have been hotter. Peace, Totty

Wow Margie,116 is way too hot, I like the summertime, but I would not be able to get outdoors and enjoy it if it were that hot where I lived. I live in Arkansas and it is pretty cool here for this time of the year, it is about 90 degrees. It has been overcast the last few days so the temperature has been way lower than normal. We very rarly ever have snow here either, but do occasonly get rain, we did have rain the day before yesterday. Is it humid where you are too, or is it a dry heat?Thy to stay as cool as possiable, my dear.God Bless..

Well you can keep your heat though I would like the dryness. Forgive me but isn't the heat easier to a higher level since it is dry heat? Inform me please. We here in Ohio are dry also. My bit of lawn is going brown and it is kind of prickly to walk on. I was nervous about the fireworks since it was so dry. The storms that were predicted for yesterday skirted us and gave us a mere 5 minute shower. Not enough for sure. I hope you are doing well and that your air stays on. I am hoping the weather all across our country moderates and makes for a better summer for all of us.

M&M, Your blast furnace sounds about as fun as our sauna. We have a cold front moving though here in Southern Illinois so.... it's only 90 degrees with 95 percent humidity. It was so steamy Fourth of July it was hard to breathe outside. Gotta love those "cold" fronts. They say it'll be gone tomorrow and the temps will be back to 95 ish... I would normally say give me the dry heat anyday, but even in dry heat 122 is WAY TOO HOT!

Well, there has been a few odd days here in Croatia. First we had about 38°C a few days ago, but it dropped rapidly. Today is a 'cool' 24°C. I don't mind the sudden drop of temperature. I only mind that the sea is a bit cold, but hey... school's done. :D Who can argue with that?
