Travel has had a huge impact on me before, opening my eyes and changing my perspective. Some places I've been have affected me more than others. Where have you been that has changed you and how?

I really love to travel. I think a long trip of more than a year changes a person. One such trip happened to me in 1993 and 1994. I went around the world and worked in Australia. It made me more independent as did travel alone. It gave me a better understanding of how people live in different countries. I was a children's nanny and a charity worker. I really found that I enjoyed working with children so I began thinking about training to become a teacher. When I got home did some more studying before I gained a place at university. I got a teaching degree and found the patience I have developed through travel very useful when teaching children.

Guatemala. I have met my man here and though its difficult times we have to go through but we are taking it in our stride. Everything will be fine in the end and I'm confident about it.
