I am seriously considering having the lapband surgery. Without giving a number lets just say I'm dangerously overweight. Has anyone been through this? What are the worst things I can expect from this. Worst side effects?

I wouldn't say this is advice from an expert cos I'm not but I do believe surgery is the last resort.only if you think you've tried all the diet there is the medical field or you've tried every sport there is and you don't like it.i've read about lapband surgery and it's sure not a walk in the park.hope you think before you decide on the surgery starmoishe!goodluck;)

Dear Star It's shocking that you think of doing lapbrand surgery. But for me I will never allow anybody put a knife in my body. Period. If you have read news about the 'greater loser' it gives us the confidence that no matter how fat you are, you can and will lose weight. It's all in the mind. When there is a will, there is always a way. Believe me, I weigh 184 lbs 30 years ago. Now I am only 142 lbs. Still maintaining it. If I can do it, so can too. Do a R&D on how to lose weight and you will be more confident that excessive weights can be lost. Right? Thanks! Bro. Joe

A better option is diet and excercise with a strict routine. These surgical procedures are dangerous and do not offset the medical consequences of being overweight.

I've just started my research on this too.. I'm stuck at a 40 lb weight loss, and have about 100 more to go. Would love any opinions from any who have been there, or researched and decided not to go ahead with it.

Dear Starmoishe Good weight loss begin 'between your ears'. The mind first and the body later. What you going to do to lose weight is only a temporary measure! Remember, it's the mind that control the body. My only advice to you for now is to enroll into a good spas and get a full weight loss treatment that have follow up session. Let no knife cut your body. Period! Should you require more info, please continue this thread. Thanks a million. Love:Bro. Joe. GBU
