Noticed a downslide?

Has anyone else noticed a downslide of discussions here on MyLot? I'm not sure what it is, if it's the fact that we seem to be making less or what, but I've noticed I don't have nearly the amount of discussions to choose from in my friends list. I haven't been on as often myself. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed the same? Wonder why?

I find that it's the same discussions over, and over, so, I don't want to answer the same thing time and time again. Frankly I couldn't care less about cats vs dogs, what colour socks you're wearing, or what your favourite breakfast is. I'm finding it hard to find discussions with some substance, so, I haven't been posting too much lately either.

Completely agree. Most people seem to take advantage of what Mylot really is. It is MUCH better than it used to be when I tried it out many months ago. I didn't bother with it because everything seemed to be a repeat or some one starting a discussion just to start it. I was pleased to see when I hopped back on here the other night that there are real people talking about real things now. Or at least a lot more than there were before.

Hi good to hear your feedback. When I first became a member just over a month ago I almost didn't stay because of the 'quickie/flippy' kinds of commonts on a lot of the sights. When I invited a friend to join she refused because (this is her term not mine) 'the low level' of topic material. I know that makes her sound a little intellectually snobbish...but I feel better after reading your sense of things and in many ways I have to agree. I am a free lance writer, group leader and public speaker in the health, wellness and personal development field. I enjoy stimulating discussions whether I agree with them or not. Rather than just packing Mylot in I decided to apply the Law of Attraction principles and made an intent to find some like-minded others on Mylot. Thankfully I did. The conversations I am having on my site and others within my on-line circle do have more substance...at least we think they do. If you care to join us...try out Perspectives...we are having a blast..and you might too! Hope to chat with you...or maybe you will also think we lack substance and that is okay...it is just my perspective!

Well in a way it may be good for us. If the mylot earnings dropped due to how many people have joined and are shareing what they have to pay us, if fewer people are posting maybe those of us who are will make more.

I have noticed the same; I find that I can walk away from myLot for the day, log in the next, and still see many of the same discussions that I ran into the day before. It could have something to do with the earnings, I know a lot of people have been exasperated with the recent drop in earnings. It could also do with the fact that there are a lot of new people on myLot, cause we're approaching 100,000 members. That could mean that newer people are not starting as many discussions but instead focusing on answering and discussing issues within previously posted material. I have wondered why, because I remember when there were so many good discussions that I could keep going for days. Now, I seem to fall upon the same group of discussions over and over and not even stay on too long anymore.

I have been on much less lately. I am so disgusted with the fact that nothing is being done about those who break the rules that I do not desire to spend time here. Our earnings are less because the money is being distributed throughout more posts. MANY of those posts are against guidelines. If they were removed, we might see the amount per post increase again! If you do a search for 'tarbux,' 'advercash' and all the other prgram names, you will see what I mean. Many are just throwing up 10-20 posts a day with a referral link to the countless programs of which they are a member. These are being paid the same as yours and my quality posts! I am really frustrated with mylot. I found one person who had put up 25 discussions one day, all of which were copied/pasted from ONE article on Wikipedia! Each discussion was a different paragraph of the article! It seems to be a losing battle. I did report the discussions (that took forever) and they were removed, but the person was allowed to stay as a member. It is so frustrating.

I was away on vacation for about 2 weeks and since returning have noticed a marked decrease in the number of new discussions. The plus side of that though is that there seems to be a lot less of the horrible 1 wors discussions and nonsense type threads going around. Makes me wonder if mylot has implemented some sort of method for detecting those types of discussions and deleting them before they hit the boards.

There was a time when I posted many discussions. I still post a few. Lately I find myself responding to discussions more than posting them.

I definitely am making less but I notice that I am also receiving a lot less mail from myLot. It's sad... I was having such a good time. I hope the party isn't over!

Definitely a decrease in discussions, you know it has to be from the pay dropping, people don't want to come here anymore, I find it in myself and some of my other friends, it is like, why bother? they are only going to give me nothing for my efforts ..

Yes it has slowed down DRASTICALLY here as of late. I myself start fewer discussions mostly due to when I was banned for 6 days. But I feel it's partly due to the amount of deleted discussions and banned members that have caused many to be wary of discussions etc. But I am still here and still do a few mostly about my garden. Those are always safe. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yep I noticed it also- I haven't seen you in a while on here. I wonder why they are taking the earnings down- Looks like Judy's book all over again! I hope not!

I have noticed that many members have slowed down, perhaps they are busy with other things. I just wish those plagiarized posts and posts promoting affiliate links would slow down. If that happened, the payments that currently go to those who abuse the system could be given back to the honest members and perhaps some of them might be more active here again.

I definitely se the downturn...Of course I wasn't on for a few months due to shoulder problems...but still.. I have to really search to find discussions to respond to!!! I can only guess that it has to do with payment or new sites that are drawing folks...or summer time and people are just living differently...good to hear that you are still out there!!!LOL

Hi I have been responding to some of the responses to this discussion. Members in my friends group have been discussing the challenges at Mylot...at length over the past 24 hours. If you want to see more detailed comments feel free to check out the perspectives site. Your feedback would be a welcome addition.

Yes, I notice this, too. Some of the posters with great ideas have not started discussions in ages, I wonder if they are still here. They always started many discussion and so there is fewer of them. I have not had any glorious inspiration lately, I just thought today before you started this discussion maybe everything has been said already. Otherwise I can not identify with many posts from the USA or India or China, they seem to be asking things that only apply to the local mylotters. Sometimes I go through discussions and do not find anything that I can answer and think what a waste of time. Things can change rapidly, there is great days here at mylot and slow days. Sometimes things change here very quickly. Who knows, maybe tomorrow is better again.

Speaking for myself I am do not spemd a third of the time anymore on myLot as I used to. I also used to try to post 2 or 3 new discussions a day now if I post 1 every 3 or 4 days I'm doing well. I have become very disillusioned by the way the site is being administered.

Hehehe. I must agree completely. I am guilty of absence from myLot also. In my case it's Summer and the activities here in Florida multiply ten fold. So if you don't want to do one thing there's always something else that will catch your attention. ‹(°¿°)›

Well, I don't like the way discussions my friends started works. I want to see a discussions my friends started that I did not answer. I don't want a list of the questions I just answer, and I hate answering a question that seems familiar and it is..because I answered it 2 months ago..and then I get no credit. I miss a lot of good discussions because I just don't find them.

i've noticed the same thing. I think a lot of people gave up because the earnings seemed to be going down. plus its summer and a lot of people are probably spending more time outside then on the computer. i've noticed that not many of the people on my friends list have been starting discussions, and hardly any answer mine.

I agree with you on this. I th ink there is a major decrease in Quality discussions. I've seen "Hey, should guys cook?" or "Do you think Snape is really evil?" about a million times. And then there are the "I've reached my *insert milestone number here* post" discussions....which in my opinion aren't even really discussions. I'm wondering it it has something to do with the warmer months? Maybe more people are out and about and not at thier computers? I know for myself, I often struggle to come up with what I think is an interesting discussion that will engage people. Sometimes they work out, other times they fall kinda flat. I guess I should think a little hrader ;-)

Maybe it's SUMMER! I know I've been busy trying to find a way to make some money so I haven't been on as much as I could have been
