there are times when the servings are more than we can take (like in a restaurant) so, do you force yourself to finish the whole thing?

No, we take it home and have it for another meal. We go to a diner, where for a reasonable price yuo get soup, all you can eat salad, a main course and dessert. THe dessert always come home and part of the main course does as well.

I still remember when I was a kid everytime we sit in the dining table to eat. My parents always reminds me always get food that I can only eat and don't get too much I can't consumed. Even now I have my own family I do always remind my daughters about that thing. If were eating in a resto and there's a food left we take out it and we sometimes give to the children on the street or to the beggars.

I used to do that, because that was how we were raised. Now i've been getting better at stopping when i know i'm full. if i'm at a restaurant and i know the servings are big I will find someone to split it with me or I will just ask for a doggy bag to take the leftovers home.

hii sevnthjuly, i would say yes definitely.we don't have any rights to waste food only because we have it in plenty, whereas people are starving like anything because they don't have them.we are lucky that god has given us this and we don't face such problems.for this we should thank god. in our indian culture leaving food in plate is treated as ill luck.if you do so then you will starve for that food one day.we believe it that way.we have our goddess for food "MAA ANNAPURNA".we believe that she decides whom to give food not whom not.if we are getting it then we are very much lucky. and the fact is its our choice ultimately how much we can prefer eating and how much capacity we have.wo no reason to leave extras on plate.

for me its not being religious or superstitious its more like being concerned of others. when i can have more i knew there is someone out there who barely have none.

I try my best to finish what's on my plate. This trait has been instilled to us by our parents. As kids, during mealtime, my father would often tell us to get just enough food on our plates and then get another serving later if we were still not full. I would also like to instill this to my future kids since it is a good trait. It is such a waste to put so much food on your plate and then not eat it.

yes, I do finish my food as food should not be wasted I think of people who starve & we are blessed with good & enough food,so it should not be wasted. mostly I make a point I don`t take more if I take it then finish it.

Sometimes I will split a dinner with my son's girlfriend, or with one of my kids. Other times I will bring home half to eat later, or leave some of it to be thrown away. I often don't finish the food on my plate in a restaurant. I would rather let the food go to waste than to force myself to finish food that I don't want, and then fight to lose the weight that I gained from eating it.

yeah but thats a commom problem for moms like me. i mean i dont eat the food that my kids has left on their plate but to think it would be wasted is another thing. whatever food left in the resto would surely go inside a doggy bag.

Right, if there is only a couple of bites left I might leave it, but I usually ask for a doggy bag when I can't finish my meal in a restaurant. More often though, I try to share a meal with someone since I know that I often can't finish the entire meal.

Most of the time I do. it is sort of my upbringing. Cannot bear to waste food. That is why I am finding it difficult to lose weight!! Unless I am really REALLY full, I will usually try to finish up what is on my plate

Of all the time I have dined out 95% times I finished the whole serving which was given to me on my plate but 5% times I say to the waiter to pack the remaining serving.

Yup, i make it a point to finish everything as far as i can that is on my plate. I believe that food should never be wasted. It could have fed a starving person. If i can not do that then i must take it myself...This i do not only at restaurants but also at home and other people's home...

My family always ask us to finish food in our plate. My parents always say if you dont think you can't eat much today just get enough to eat. sometimes I have to push myself to eat all everything, but sometimes i have to put those in my brother's plate... lolz... however, when we go to the restaurant, then we have to bring those home....

I used to do that, but then wanted to lose like 15 lbs so I forced myself to order small amounts, and if they are stlll to much, i eat half, I also did lose that 15lbs.

If we really do like the food and we can no longer eat we usually take it home. I usually order less food for myself when eating out. I am pretty sure my kids and wife won't be able to finish theirs and I would be the one to finish everything that's left.

I do because I make sure that I don't take too much if I know I am not going to finish it somehow.

I eat too much :$ and that's why I never get this problem in a restaurant though sometimes I have too eat much less for I am so shy of asking again. The real problem with me is when I return from a journey I forget how much I need and end up serving myself more than I need. Then I do force myself to finish everything. I can't see food go wasted, and that's why I never eat something too if that is not liked by me. ;)

Yes, I always try my very best to finish the food that's on my plate. We've always been taught that it's a big sin to waste perfectly good food so that's why we always try not to waste anything. If I really can't finish my food, then I'd put them into the fridge and cook something else out of it the next day, perhaps fried rice! :) It's delicious!

i always try to finish all the food that's on my plate but when i can't eat the food because i don't like the taste or i can't eat that much food then i leave the food on the plate, but i always try my best to eat all the food in my plate because it is the way our holy profit hazrat muhammad(PBUH) liked it.
