There are 4 types of blood (A,B,AB,and C)and it's either positive or negative. We only have 2 types of blood in my family AB and A positive. They all knew their blood types but i don't know mine. But i'm pretty sure it's either AB or A. Do you know yours?

Yes, I know!. I'm AB negative, and people say when a woman is negative and she gets pregnant, she must do a lot of exams.... I don't know how good is to be negative.

If a woman has a negative type of blood and her husband is positive. I think their would be some complications to the baby as what our teacher told us. I just don't know. But it's better to be sure and have an examinations. Thanks

Thats absolutely correct. But caroline there is nothing to be afraid off. I am sure there would be a way out of this. May God bless you. I am a B+ AS FAR AS THE BLOOD GROUP IS CONCERNED. So if u all r my friends, just be positive and move on. I am sure everything would be fine. But please consult a good doctor before un go ahead for going pregnent.

I have A- blood type and only 6% of people have this type. If I needed a transfusion then I would have a hard time finding someone of the same type. But I had been giving blood for many years and so hopefully there are many other people with my type of blood that donate regularry so that if I do need a transfusion I can get one without having to have the hospital sends out to hospitals all over the country to find some for me. Since I have had MRSA I have not donated (I don't know if they would take it). I hope that most of you have and are continuing to donate blood , It is a well worthy cause in case you are your family need it. I am hoping that I never need it either but after donating over 6 gallons (over 30 years) I think that I should be able to not worry if I do need a transfusion.

Wow! that's a lot. I mean, i think you are donating every year or every 3 to 4 months i guess. I hope there are a lots of people out there are just like you. Ready to share and help those people who are badly needs blood. Like what you've said that A-blood type is so rare to find. So, just continue your good deed and may you have more people to help with that good act. Bless you always.

i am B type, that's what my medical certificate says :) for me it is good to know this because we do not know when we might need it for future untoward incidents like emergency blood transfusion or something like that.

I am AB positive. I found this out when I donated blood to the American Red Cross when I was 17 years old for an American Government class. It was for extra credit, but it has come in handy for me knowing over the years.

Oh,you've made a very good deed for that very young age. Here in our place i think we aren't allowed to donate blood until we reach 18 years old. Good for you and for others sherrir. Keep up the good work! God bless

I am AB+ which is the universal receiver blood group -I can receive blood from any other blood group. It's not a common blood group but not as rare as AB-.

Blood type O are the Universal donor and blood type AB are the Universal recipient. I just don't know about negative types. May be it's all about negative-negative and positive-positive donors. Thanks

I think and i observed that type AB blood looks clearer than of the others. It is also rare, hard to look, and very expensive. For me, i just don't care whatever type of blood I have as long as I have..lol.

I'm A+ I found out from giving blood when I was 17 years old. I'm 2 pints away from 1 gallon, I should look into some blood drives this year and finish my first gallon. When I first started donating (I did 4 pints in the first 2 years that I gave blood) I got a lot of invitations for "A Team" blood donation events. They were basically donation sites set up specifically to get A+ and A- blood. Everyone who participated got a T-shirt and there were prizes given out randomly.

Just like Sherrir did on her post here. She also donated blood when she was 17 years' old. And that was a very good idea of giving some free gifts to those who wanted to donate bloods. Thanks and Keep going! Blessings will return

my blood type is o -ve,its a rarely blood group also called the donor blood group bcoz this can be given to any person of any blood group. It twice happened with my family once with my mother and other with my drand father. both due to loss of blood needed blood but there wasnt people of this group bcoz its much rare....the nurse checked all but this o -ve wasnt to be found any where. we were small that time and people above 18 can give blood to the victim only so we had to ask for blood from blood donating camps and other such hospitals. If u have AB as ur blood group then u are lucky bcoz ab group is blood recipient group that is any body of any blood group can donate u blood.

Oh really? here in our country, you can rarely find AB blood, mostly "O." And you are right that under 18 years old are not allowed to donate blood coz their bodies cannot yet manage to get weak after donating blood. They said it's good to donate blood after 3 to 4 months so that your bone cartilage will create again another clean blood that will be needed by your body. Thanks a lot for responding.

There is definitely no blood type C mymytri..and you are right, it should be "O." As what i've told them that i was singing an ABC song when i come up with this discussion..hehehe..AB type of blood, they said it's a royal blood coz aside that it's very expensive here, you can rarely find any of that. Mostly type O.

There is no C type blood. There is O, A, B, and AB as far as I know and then there is negative and positive. I am AB negative, which is the rarest blood type there is. Only .06% of the population has it. I saw below someone else does. That makes me feel less alone!

You are right. AB negative type is so rare and i think you can't find a blood like that here in our place. And oh,that is okay. I sometimes like that also. I don't read it first before sharing my thoughts and ideas..heheh..thanks wotfpatty. Is that you in your avatar? so pretty.
