How does one choose between his wife or his baby?

it is a given fact that as a woman goes into labor for childbirth, her life is put into a 50-50 risk in case any complication happens during the labor. There are also cases where the mother have complications that would make it impossible for her to deliver the baby safely without harming herself. And in this case, the husband is usually asked whether to save the baby or save his wife. My question towards men is that, if you were in the position of the husband, how would you decide upon this matter? As for women, if you had the power to choose, what will your choice be? Sacifice yourself or save yourself?

I gave birth in a Catholic hospital so I never had the choice. The child would always be the one that survives if you give birth in a Catholic hospital and I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm only 23 but i've got to experience life but my child is new and hasn't had a chance at it yet. If I die then it was Gods will and I can't change that.

this is not a question of what are we going to decide, it has been decided already a long time ago that we save the child for the reason that we give a new life a chance since the mother have had her chance to live and made the world a little better already.though, another school of thought states that a mother can still bear more children as compared to saving only a life but the issue is to give a newly born to live.

Yes but in cases like this I believe that the doctors still ask the husband about his decision, especially when the wife is unconscious to make a decision. So with your response I assume that you will save the baby.

If I sacrifice myself who would take care and guide my baby in his growing years? If I sacrifice my baby how could I live with that for the rest of my life? I will have to request to my angel to let me see my GOD first before I decide.
