My brother recommended Avast. It was free to download and he has been using it on his computer. I guess one of the main reasons I chose it is because it was free to download. So far, I haven't had any problems on my computer. . .it must be working.

the anti-virus that i have in my computer is AVG. the reason why i have chosen this is that it doent really disturb the speed of the computer and also detects almost all viruses and malicious programs. i hate mcafee and norton for the RAM requirements they need and they frequntly bug you with many other problems. AVG is so best for that i really have no plans of changing my anti-virus as of now nor in the near future.

Yes. I am currently using a freeware version which is Avira AntiVir Classic Edition. I can totally say that since using this one, I never had problems at all with respect to viruses and other malwares. It updates regularly and you can schedule this at your most convenient time. It is very light on resources and does not eat a lot of memory. It does not slow down your computer system. Its primary function and advantages is to provide protection against viruses, worms, and trojans, protection against dialers and phishing, and detects and delete rootkits. More than 15 million users worldwide trust in the reliable protection of Avira Antivir, and this is no coincidence at all. Avira has gained several awards. The products combines first-class detection rates and ease of use with a top performance that protects your computer safely. That's it. Have a nice day.

I also have AVG, it was free and it updates daily. I used to use macfee but found it very slow when I started up my computer. I am happy with the one I use now and also run adware and spyware removal programs that I also got for free. I think you can get them from downloads.com

Trashed Windows and installed Ubuntu linux in stead. When you use linux you don't need antivirus or firewall.

Actually I prefer NOD32, it's really help me to protect my PC from viruses plus delete it. But I think AVG is enough to protect with complete choice. :) What about you?

Yes, I do have an anti-virus in my computer. I prefer Norton because it has very good functionality and also provides information related to any system change that can be lethal. Apart from that it has well organized virus definitions for which I place at the top of the list.

I have Avast. Many of my friends use it, I've had it for a long time and it seems to work really well. A bonus is that it's free for personal users.

I'm using AVG - firstly because it's free, and has free automatic updates to keep it current, and also because it doesn't contain a firewall - I don't need that because I have a separate firewall. It's a small and fast program, and also scans my emails - I'd recommend it.
