That's true! I am reading Dale Carnegie's book which gives so many suggestions on getting along with people and teaches skills to be sophisticated, but it is a Chinese version, I will try the original English version later. You're right that I should read some success stories of great people, we should stand on Giants' shoulders!

Webster's Millennium Learning English Pro Cost might be around $50. I think it is the best for you and you can find and buy it online in www.ebay.com also

Illusions: "The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" is an inspirational book. "The Tao of Pooh" is a great book, I read it once a year, and it's pretty short... I can't really think of many uplifting ones, I usually read more action type books.

I've recently read Paulo Coehlo's "The Alchemist". It's an inspiring book with a very simple story. The paperback novel is less than 200 pages. You can also try "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is almost like a children's book but I think the story applies to everyone across all ages. I hope this helps.

How about the Bible in Chinese and English side by side? I'm sure they have that there, you would just have to find it. I know it helped a lot of students where we used to teach English in another country. And not only will it improve your English, it will most definitely give you "the courage to live." I can guarantee that! There are many online stores where you can order the Bible from like American Bible Society, and CBD (Christian Book Distributors). I hope this helps! May you continue to learn English well! :)

I have to say for just learning English you type very well. I also think it's interesting how this community of mylot is being used so much by people who are wanting to learn the English language. As far as books, I don't really read inspirational books. One of the authors that I'm digging right now is Jodi Picoult. She writes fictional books but they usually have a non-fictional background. For instance, My Sisters Keeper, is a book about a teenager who wants to sue her parents for custody of her own body. She is being used as a donor for her sister who has cancer. It's about stem cell research and kind of shows the different sides of Stem Cell research. The girl, who feels like she was born to be a donor. The parents who created her especially for her sisters survival but still loved her all the same. The other sibling who got forgotten in the triangle. Etc. As for real inspiration, there are these collections of books called "Chicken Soup for the _____ Soul." The blank is filled in with many things. Cat lovers, mothers, teenagers, etc. They are little short stories with a little inspiration.
