When did you get your first pet?

I had a pet when I was about a month old. My parents got a puppy a month after I was born. She was a 2 year old puppy. My brother was about 2 and a half years old. Sometime when I was very young we also got two cats. I think all children should have pets because I think it teaches them so many things that they don't learn otherwise. Especially if you don't have a younger sibling. Having a pet teaches you to care for another living being that depends on you. It teaches you responsibilty like you said. I never understood how people could live without a pet anyhow. I mean, even if you just get a fish! You still need to clean the bowl/tank and feed it.

when i was a little boy. i had a lot of pet. most of them were dogs. at the age of 5, i hava a good dog. it is not hava name. because i cann't give a name for it. that's my first pet. we are have a good time in my life. it's very good. it can do some work. yes , it's really . it very clever.when i took to it. it can know about it what i say.from that, i become to love dog.

My mum tells me we had a dog when I was a young, but I don't remember it. It was a long time after that that I had another, a dog, then tropical fish, a hamster and another dog. Circumstances changed so everything had to go. But things are better now, 14 years on and we now have another dog - a lovely border collie puppy.

As far as I can remember I have always had pets all my life..We have always had pets in our household.

Since I was 4 years old, I got my first pets (two cute dogs). They were puppies when I got them. I loved them very much. Yes, you're right. Having pets can make a kid be responsible.

I got my first pet from a drunk in front of our local walmart. It was a cat, that my mom named widdle. I already had a dog before that though, but he was there since birth so I never 'got' him.
