Do you agree the USA should begin pulling combat troops out of Iraq?

The House of Representatives has voted for the USA to begin removing combat troops from Iraq in the near future, but GW Bush has threatened to veto this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6896789.stm With an election coming up, the Repulicans seem anxious for Iraq to be taken off the agenda. I did not agree with the initial invasion of Iraq, it seemed foolish to remove a dictator who was brutal but managed to control extremists. It was even more foolish to remove the existing civil servants, police and army, no wonder there is no law and order in Iraq at present. But it seems that right now is the worst time to pull out of Iraq, it also seems that this action would play into the hands of Al Qaeda et al. What do you think??

To pull out now would be a disaster. What would have happened if the French and British had stood up to Hitler when he moved into Austra, Checkslovika, or other terrorty he grabbed. Al Quaeda has vowed to kill everyone who doesn't beleive what they beleive. The intern report from Iraq showes us that when they feel we are behind them the Iraqi people will help us locate the terriorist. We need to give the surge a chance to work.

I agree. But it seems that that is exactly what will happen.

I agree with you, they should not have invaded Iraq in the first place. in my opinion, they were just hungry for oil... They have no right to remove a country's dictator, it is their decision on HOW to run their own country. I also agree that you said "it seemed foolish to remove a dictator who was brutal but managed to control extremists." If the method he used works, then that is all that matters! the amount of people he brutally kills, is far less than what extremists had done to today's society! The US made the wrong move in invading them in the first place, its not like they will admit to it... it should be a very interesting topic int he future.... i would say waht the US had done is like a doctor removing cancer from a patient. They thought it would work, and the complete cancer affected area would be removed, but all they did was allow it to spread even more quickly...

I know they have been enemies for many centuries and it is likely that this will continue. However I am more concerned about the targets for Al Qaeda...ie us in the west. Leaving Iraq now would be exactly what Al Qaeda want and would encourage them further not to mention giving them a secure base from which to operate.

It seems there's no real or clear objective now to this war. And without a clear game plan, how can we ever win or know that we've done all we can? I really think it's time to pull out, no- I think it's past the time we should have pulled out.

I think we should pull out. We don't seem to be doing much good over there anymore anyway. All we are doing is being targets. They had their elections, let them sort it out. No one helped us much with OUR civil war and we got sorted out.

Yes I think the USA should get out of Iraq and let the United Nations take over. I think the war in Iraq was a ploy right from word go. I think if someone here stayed in my country to control me I would have a huge problem with it. Move over USA and let the UN take over.

By its own admission, the US is failing to achieve its goals in the war. The Defense Department's most recent report indicates that progress on 7 of its 9 most important benchmarks is "unsatisfactory". This is a war that is unwinnable and is costing the US billions of dollars and thousands of lives. It is time to cut our losses and get out.

dear friend as we all know that USA is doing wrong with IRAQ but after viewing about many things from many angle i think USA is not doing 100% wrong with iraq because analising the history of SADAM HUSSEN,his work principle, his monopolyness, his cruility one can say that USA is not doing wrong with irqa.
