I actually love driving, I actually find it very therapeutic more so if I am driving alone, it's my space and it's the freedom, having the music on as loud as I want, being able to sing (I can't sing) but who's to care if I'm driving alone! I am taking a long trip to my retreat in 3 weeks time and already I've lined up the cds I'm going to be playing as well as the sucky sweets LOL!

I'm mad on the 80s music, so stuff like Duran Duran, Roxy Music, Madonna, ELO and Cher are all lined up to be played en route!

I like to go out driving personally. I cannot stand being at home all day as to me this is a day wasted. I was planning to go out to do some photography today but suprisingly (not) it's chucking it down with rain so looks like I'll be staying in till later then probably go out for tea. I must admit I use motorways quite alot and never relish the thought of being stuck in the car for that long, but I usually choose my music listening that I can sing along to the CD's and that usually makes time go faster. Safe journey..

Oh anything really as long as I can sing along.. I'm a metal / rock fan and will usually have a few cd's in the car, or oldie music, not keen on this dance stuff to be honest...

Travelling and driving is where i find the most peace and comfort. I grew up with parents who travelled a lot, so i guess some of it rubbed off. I drive defensively always watching for the unknown, that's a good habit for highway survival. Take care Eaforeman.

I have not been on a vacation in years. But,we have gone on day trips.I usually ride on the church bus or with family.Sometime's I go with friends.I only like to drive on roads I know.See,I have an equalibrium problem and have problems driving on some high roads or bridges.Plus,I like to see everything. If iam driving I can't do that. The only problem with riding with family they do not always want to stop at sites that we do.I wish I didn't have that problem or could afford to pay a driver and he/she would have to stop when I said.Lol.

We love to go on trips & holidays. We try to go on at least two holidays each year. Other times we just go on day drives. My husband mostly does the driving & this suits me. He loves to drive oin outings where there are good views. I enjoy this too. Sometimes I think he wants to go out morte than me. I do like to stay at home sometimes & get things done.

I have so many things that I love to do at home that I enjoy it. I know that it is good for us to get out sometimes... but I do like music while driving and as wolfie pointed out the cds are great on the road....

I always did love driving... particulary when I was in my twenties. I used to go away almost every weekend... and I took three camping holidays a year... driving thousand of miles each time. That was thirty years ago. Things have changed since then. I still like driving... but only on country roads. I hate the city with its heavy traffic congestion. That's no fun at all. I don't enjoy freeways and motorways either. While it is practical and fast... it is very boring. Speed cameras and police radars have taken all the fun out of driving. There is no fun in crawling amongst traffic under the speed limit. I am convinced that the enforcement of speed limits have caused this new desease of "driver fatigue" which did not exist 30 years ago. If you are crawling along and bored out of your mind... you will get tired and start feeling sleepy. Today there are just as many accidents caused by driver fatigue as there are from speeding. All speed limits have always been set 20 miles below the mark of what is becoming dangerous. Those 20 miles are the difference between enjoying your driving and crawling along.

You are right. I find that the traffic makes it take so long that I am tired before I get there. Even when going just a few hours away....Its a pain... Id rather not be on the road....unless its a no traffic road lol. People arent driving safer and there are more and more people on the roads. The cell phones have made it more dangerous, they are talking and not focusing...

I haven't been on a holiday for a couple of years now & it was by myself! I flew there & back but then later in the year i had to go over again by plane & drive home with my sister - long drive it was but we took the scenic tour & it was SO nice. When we finally go on a holiday as a family, i think i'd like to drive, it doesn't have to be far away but driving is really nice & you can stop & visit other places along the way - in a plane you cant stop & check everything out - hey, you cant even see anything from all the way up there! I am a bit of a home body but now that we have a daughter, i think i'd like to go away for a few days every year! Just have to try & work out what to do with our zoo of pets!
