I nominate Thailand. From what I know, it hasn't been colonized ever so their culture is purely Thai. They have really great tourist spots like their beaches, their floating market, their temples, plus it's fast becoming a shopping haven. Economically, they seem to be doing well too.

Hmmm I am not sure of the criteria. Las Vegas could get a few votes with that breakdown. Moreover it seems to favor devloping nations whos economies have come a long way recently. So using those restrictions, it seems to me that only China and India could really fit the question. But honestly, "best" is not an appellation for either country
