Cannot Get a Job All!!!

One day, I went to Winn-Dixie to do an application online and hoping to have a job there. Two weeks later, I went to the place again to ask for the manager and she said that my personal test rating was under 50, I could not get an interview nor a job. I tried put in applications all over town and not had one offer from any of the companies. I recently placed my resume online with Manpower and was scheduled to take a data entry test. Luckly, I passed the test and was given an offer to be interviewed at Rexell Electronic and Database. I felt discouraged trying to find the location of the place and thought it would be in the city limit, but I end up telling Manpower that I was an hour late trying to find the main office. They were very disappointed in me and I apoligized. After I had the interview with the Rexell manager, he allowed me to hear a call from them in 13 days if I'm qualified. Right now, I have no income, no bank account, and no money. I feel like I may become homeless soon. Do I have to keep on going from one company to the next to fill out applications? What suggestions can you offer me?

I'm glad you gave me a good suggestion. Of all the few jobs interviews I had in the past, this was the only job interview I was late going to. I hope we continue our job hunting.

You are going through a very rough time right now. It happens to a lot of people but knowing that doesn’t help at all. One thing you said. You could not find Rexall home office and that caused you to be very late. This is a very bad sign to an employer. What you say and what happened, in their eyes, do not match. Consider how many other applicants did find it and were on time. One of the most important things you can do in finding a job, no matter what it is, is to give them a good impression of you. This did not happen with Rexall and it is possible that is happening with the rest of the companies. So what is happening? Putting an application in and showing up for an interview is important but by far the most important thing is that when you sit in that interview you know something about that company, you look like a person who has got it together. Never ever go to a job interview in jeans, t-shirt, cutoffs or anything even close. Depending on the job you may not need a suit but you should always look your best. It gives you confidence and tells them how important it is to you and how reliable you will be. Appearance is at least 60% of what will get you that job. Find out what those tests are all about. Educate yourself about what they are asking so that the next one you will score higher. Remember this: No matter what job you are trying to get, applying and hoping is never enough. If your appearance is shabby for instance you will present a bad example to the customers and no company wants that. You said you couldn't find the home office. That makes them think you may not be able to find it quite often so you are a poor risk. No company is going to give you a job because they feel sorry for you. You need to deserve it. Believe it or not it is not that hard to do just that. Hiring an employee for any position costs money. The last thing they want is to pick someone that they can't rely on. If in a few weeks they are looking again they have wasted their money. You clearly have access to the Internet. Next time use Mapquest.com to find an address and you will know just where they are. Never....ever....be late for an interview and never....ever....look like you could care less about your appearance. Work through Manpower to determine how to prepare for that interview. The time you put into all of this will pay you back big time. If you don't believe it...well I wish you luck.

Well doing nothing sure aint gonna help you is it. I do appreciate what a difficult situation you are in and how difficult it is to stay motivated and positive when things just dont seem to go your way no matter how hard you try. But you simply got to keep going or everything will fall completely appart. Loosing your home would be near as catastrophic as it gets, as you would not have anywhere to recharge your batteries and relax the day you will finally succeed in finding a job. I obviously do not know what are your qualifications or what type of jobs you are applying for. But mayne you would have to change your attitude and approach to getting a new job, by accepting anything as a start and something that will help you on your way. I am sure you will one day succeed and be glad that you did not give in. I wish you all the best in your jobhunting and pray to god that somthing will soon turn up for you. :) Greetings
