What do you think about OVAs that are made after the series? Are they usually disappointing? Do you enjoy them? Which is generally better, the OVA or the series?

I'm not too sure. Definitly the series give you exactly 'what' a anime is...and OVAs just add spice to it. It's like a scene taken out from after the series is over...and its definitly fun, and not too serious. I love watching the short OVAs.

Yeah, the OVA's generally take the major happenings of the story and put them together for the film. I usually miss all the things they leave out though. I mean, there is so much more to a story than just the major events. Thanks for the reply!

Well i do think hunter x hunter ova is really short but it is very nice , making me want to see more . but i can see from the comic that the story later seems to get really boring , maybe that why the anime did not continue

Hmmm i really think it depends on said OVA. I enjoyed some of the Rurouni Kenshin/ Samuri X OVA's. But others not so much. To be honest the entire Ruriouni Kenshin series is just amazing. The last episode is a little bit disappointing.

I don't think OVAs are disappointing at all, I think they are great! Even some have different animation and don't go along with the series, I always like them because they are like a bonus that adds on to the anime and manga. Besides, if you like a series to begin with, I don't see how the OVA could be bad, unless all the voices changed or something or it was really bad quality for some reason... I usually like the anime better though because there is more to see.

Yeah i also think OVA is nice and interesting although somtimes the main series may have more storyline and action.
