who was the best chief engineer?

There's montgomery scott, Geordi Laforge, B'ellana Torres, and some more.. Who was the best and who was the most lovable?

Well, best as far as skills go would have to be Scotty, I mean he was the guy who could pull off anything faster than the laws of physics would allow! Plus he was the original and I'm sure he came up with all kinds of procedures the engineers who followed him learned from.
My favorite though, is Geordi. Not only is TNG my favorite of the Star Trek series, but Geordi and Data are one of the best duos. Chief O'Brien and Dr. Bashir from DS9 are another unlikely pair of friends who are great to watch as well.
Hm, maybe if it weren't for Data, I wouldn't like Geordi quite as much, since they're best together, but he's still a great character.

Scotty is the best, he is the miracle worker after all, liked B'ellana because well she's a pretty girl. Didn't like Geordi much though nor the engineers from DS9, they seemed too...average...too normal discounting geordi's eyes of course. But I'm fond of Data, he did resist the borg.

The best is Geordi but Scotty is the most loveable and most endearing, if you wanted it done you went to Scotty...B'ellana is great also..Star Trek fans find it hard to choose one over the other..we love star trek..

I think I fell in-love with B'ellana, I like her more than even seven of nine. Scott is the best though for sure, why else would he be called the miracle worker? I just want to emphasize something you said...WE LOVE STAR TREK!
