Something I've wondered

I got to wondering myself. I've posted video game material and have gotten the comment on they only accept recently released games. Anybody figure out exactly what their definition of recently released means? If they mean like games for the Wii, PS3, and the X-Box 360, then ok or even newer PC games. Right now, in that case I really don't have anything on that. I don't have any new systems yet and the closest new game I got on the PC would be Megaman X8. Has anybody ever written a review on a game or a franchise and was able to get paid for it? I've been trying and so far I haven't found the right one. I tried with detailing with the history with Mario and Zelda and with the Megaman franchise overall. So far, none of those worked. Anybody got any good tips and if you'd like to read what I got and some ideas on how to approach the topics in a different manner, I'm curious on that. Any help like that would be appreciated greatly as I will try and keep that in mind the next time I get something submitted. I'm also going to write a movie review. What would be something that would be good for this year on recommendation? I was going to try the new TMNT movie with my own thoughts on the whole thing but I'm not sure if it has a shot at getting a payment. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/83194/bruce_bostwick.html

Typically they don't pay for reviews that are written. You might could get away with a movie review done in video format though. It just depends I guess. You can also try a movie review that isn't titled as a review. Like, the theme of a movie and how it applies to society as a whole. I watched "Pursuit of Happieness". It was based on a true story and extremely inspiring. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.

I didn't get an upfront payment which was a bit of a bummer. I'll have to consider trying something like that. I'll just have to try again that's all. I'll have to try to not let it discourage me. Hopefully I can just do better with the articles to get upfront payments. I think I can make something in the form of performance bonus. It just got published today along with other articles.

I don't know specifically about video games, but I have heard some people complain that they will only accept VERY recent released movie reviews--in some cases, only if you submit the movie review after seeing a sneak preview! On the other hand, however, I have published a lot of movie and music reviews, mostly on older movies. Somehow, I've never had any of those rejected. I've never gotten paid well for them, but that's okay with me! :) http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/19234/dawn_a_vogel.html

Thanks for your input on that. I just submitted my 1st movie review just yesterday. Hopefully it will be accepted. I'm crossing my fingers on that.
