I talked to a guy today who said he was off to do some Christmas shopping, i was slightly bewildered as i looked at the calander on my phone and noticed its July 14th. But i shouldnt be surprised i guess, many people start Christams shoppong for next year December 26th. I myslef am a late shopper. I would even consider Christmas shopping till at least october as i got burned one year when i tried early shopping. It seemed pretty much everyone i got something cool for wound up buying it themselves before Christmas arrived. Bummer. So in loue of that, i have become a late shopper. How about you? When do you think is a good time to gear up for the holiday shopping list? I mean for the meaningful gifts, not the tube socks for you cousin in law jerry twice removed, but for those closest to you?

I try to be done by the first week in December these days. I was really bad when I was younger, though. I worked retail in a mall, and would almost always work Christmas eve. I'd finish my shopping at the mall that morning before our store got busy, and leave everything at giftwrap to be wrapped. They had to be wrapped before I left work, because I had to give them that night! Our family always exchanged gifts at a big party on Christmas eve. Christmas shopping is much less stressful now that I don't wait that long.

Hmm that brings up something i noticed when i used to work in a mall. The only reason i noticed it was the fact i had my eye on something higher end. In about late september the price of it went up a few dollars, then magically in november there was a sale and what do you know, it was back at the original price. After that i kept an eye out and noticed the same trend on much of the things the following year. Shopping scandals!

i am usually a very late shopper... i don't shop until the last minute... well, for one reason, i have to work out my budget really tightly as i am living on a very limited budget... so i usually do my christmas shopping in november or even december depending on the savings that i have...

I am a SAHM to 3 kiddos so I have to start shopping early LOL Two of my kids have birthdays in September (right after school starts) so if I don't start collecting now, I am out at the last minute trying to get things done and that is just so hard. I looked at the calander myself the other day and thought, good grief, I need to start thinking about the holidays.

Hi socorban. I am also a late shopper and when I say late that's exactly what I mean...I'm the one running around like crazy through a billion stores on Christmas eve...lol. I know better and I say afterwards every year that I will start sooner but somehow it just never happens..oh well, but I do agree that starting around October is a great time, not too soon and yet not too late.

LOL. So when i look up procrastination in the dictionary i will see you? Im just kidding. But yea ive been there all to many times. I hate shopping in crowded places, too many people just bug me out. So i put aside the "i'll do it tommorow" bit i used to do until Christams eve and force myself out in october or november. If i go to early i get screwed cuase like i said, everyone seems to get what i bought them before Christmas then anyway.

I loathe Christmas shopping. Not to mention that anything I'd want to get my family they'd be more than likely to get for themselves unless I wait until last minute. So I usually try to shop around end of November, beginning of December. I don't like to go out unless I Know exactly what I'm getting someone/everyone. I don't like to just "shop around" or anything like that. I like to go in, because I hate fighting the crowds, get what I need and leave! I like to have all my shopping done at least a week if not more before Christmas so I have time to actually enjoy Christmas.

I'd so shop early way early...heck all year if I had the space to store it all. I love being able to buy things I see for others when I see them. But for now I usually start shopping in like October maybe September. I am usually done by the first part of December except for the little things for like the stocking stuffers and last minute little add ons. I am REALLY bad about add ons. lol I need to stop that, but I love giving!

Hi there. We tend to do our christmas shopping on boxing day lol, funny but true. Boxing day here is when anything and everything is on special "Big Time"... We do christmas shopping for the following year or mostly birthday presents leading up to christmas...

Well it all depends… usually the best time to get the discounted but great gifts are in July during the Back to School Sales. When I go shopping and find something that I know my kids have wanted but decide that it would be a great gift for Christmas then I would get it and put it away even if we are in the month of July. I usually decide on buying Christmas gifts during other holidays because that is the sales are good. In fact, this past father’s day I bought a PSP from Walmart on sale at $137.00! I bought it for my son but don’t plan on giving him until Christmas. I also went and got two of my kids K-swiss shows that were on sale for $49.99 so then I ended up getting one for my Goddaughters Christmas gift this year because she also wanted one. It might seem weird but then if you are on a budget and can get things a lot cheaper before Christmas actually rolls around then why not? Truthfully I only get one gift for my kids but then I make sure that it is well worth it like a PSP. For the rest of my family I usually get their gifts starting October because there are too many for me to buy for at one time. I hate shopping late because I would stress out a lot more if I haven’t crossed out most of my list and had limited money to get the gifts, so then I prefer to start shoping now so that I can take advantage of the sales.

I usually start shopping in november and go until the week before christmas. I have to say that shopping from december 26 is probably you best bet. Everything is 40%+ off after christmas so there's great savings after the holidays. I remember I has to change a pair of shoes and for the price they cost before christmas, I had almost enough to buy 2 pairs after christmas!

I don't shop until the last moment, nosy kids. But my 5 year old has already made her list. She was very cute the other night, counting how many pages on the calander until Christmas. She comes running into the kitchen shouting "There is only 5 more until Christmas" Poor thing was rather devistated when I explained that each page has 30 days on it!!!

I generally start shopping for Christmas or birthdays Dec.26th. I shop all year long actually. If I find a good deal on something it goes into my birthday/christmas box. There is only 5 months left til Christmas!!

I did my Christmas shopping today, and for the very first time online. I used a site called christmasmonth.com to buy toys for my two children and I have to say it's really easy this way. The reason I am buying now is because I just love buying gifts really.

I start saving for Christmas shopping pretty early. But I don't start my shopping until November. I love the excitement of shopping around the holidays. I try not to shop at times when there will be a ton of other people, though.

I start about February. It makes shopping more fun, and as I see something I want to give, I cross their name off a list I keep in my purse to be sure I didn't forget that I had already purchased something for them. I love shopping this way!!

We usually do our Christmas shopping around September to November to avoid the holiday rush. It also gives us enough time to wrap the gifts and not spend Christmas eve wrapping the gifts we would be giving out the next day.
