The Orlando Magic have committed around $200M to the contracts of Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard's extension. Does the Rashard Lewis trade make the Magic title contenders? Do you think the Magic overpaid Lewis with the "biggest contract in franchise history"?

I think they will have as good a shot as anyone in the east. The west is only getting stronger with Durant and Oden going to there. I'd do it if I were the GM of Orlando, why not lock up two solid players that are consistently healthy and try to find one more piece along the way? So what if they overpaid, there are far more ridiculous contracts out there!

Though Rashard will now be a Magic, They will still not be a major threat to other playoff teams. They still lack experience because they lost a role model and veteran in Grant Hill, and with the inclusion of Lewis, they will be a young team for the season.

I feel they did overpay Rashard Lewis as he is good but not that good. He will help make the Magic contenders though and extending Howard's contract was a smart decision. They will be interesting to watch this season for sure. They did not lose anything when Grant Hill signed with Phoenix. They probably need to make one or two more moves to become serious threats to Detroit and Cleveland.
