I purchased Wii for my husband because he loves exercise and hates video games. He refused to even try it - said it was a waste of money. So I set it up and my daughter and I have been playing it. I could tell he was curious and interested and my daughter finally got him to play. He actually said it was a good game! I was shocked. I read in the USA Today that they are coming out with a physical fitness type game in 2008 - I cannot wait to get that for him. I think he'll really enjoy it. What games are your favorites and why?

We love our Wii that's for sure. I really couldn't say I have a favorite though, I like all the ones we have bought thus far. I am excited to get through Wario Smooth Moves though so I can just hoola hoop without doing other tasks. lol Most everyone we have shown our Wii too has really enjoyed it. My husbands sister even got one after them playing ours. hehe

We brought ours to our family reunion last month and everyone loved it, asked how much it was and how to get one. I was surprised that no one in my family had heard of this game console before! I haven't seen Wario Smooth Moves, I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

I like the Wii bowling. But most of the games are pretty fun.

Have you done the exercises with Wii bowling? They put obstacles in your path and you have to bowl around the obstacle to get the pin down. It's really challenging.

I'm not personally familiar with Wii, but I've been hearing that they've been coming out with a lot of great games--AND that they're very popular in nursing homes. The latter is especially true of bowling. The older people not only have fun Wii-style bowling with each other, but this is also a way to stay connected to their grandkids when they come to visit and find fun things to do at a nursing home. I think that my all time favorite board game is a neck-to-neck race between Monopoly and Checkers. My favorite arcade-style video game is PacMan/Ms.PacMan. I love to play Solitaire both in real life and virtual. Also, I find the games at Netwinner to be loads of fun--and they even have paid off considerably for me in both cash and points! Speaking of which, I've just created this information sheet about enjoyable ways you can earn online. I think you might like what you see there, so please check it out... http://cfetc.blogspot.com/2008/07/some-of-ways-i-get-paid-for-having-fun.html

I really like Mario Strikers Charged because i like football and it is a really funny way to play it, i don't do excercise playing it but i enjoy it a lot. I like the Wi-Fi Interface so i can play it online with rankings and etc. I am waiting for Super Smash Bros Brawl i've heard that it will be one of the bests for playing online. I like those games but the genre i really enjoy is RPG, unfortunately, Wii doesn't have many RPG's and few were annonced :(

You'll have to figure my ignorance, but what is RPG? I have Madden Football and it's fun, but very hard - at least for me. There's so many options that I forget what I can or how to do it. I guess that's what practice is for. I didn't hook it up to play online, but perhaps one day I will. Actually one day my daughter will probably force me to. She already wants me too.

Im looking up to adquire an Wii exemplar, but Im really concerned about that joystick... I think that it will give me a lot of headache, because it seems so weak... Do it breaks easy? Ah! Congratulations for you and your husband ^^ Cya! o/

I'm not sure what you mean by "joystick". There is a Wii handheld, but it comes with a strap so you don't accidentally throw it. I think that in order to break it you'd have to hit it really hard against a wall or some other furniture, in which case I'd be more concerned about your hand than the handheld device.

I own the game "Rayman Raving Rabbids" for the Wii and can be quite a workout. It is basically a bunch of mini games. One of which includes having you run a race before the bomb that you're holding explodes! It's a lot of fun seeing all the images go flying by as your character is running by them all at the speed of light! To make him run you have to hold the wii-mote in one hand and the nun chuck in the other and move them up and down alternately. It's one of my favorite mini games and lots of fun to do. But man, my arms get tired after a while! Haha! I heard that for the new exercise game that the Wii is coming out with, you have to buy a balancing board or something. Perhaps I misunderstood, but that would be pretty interesting to see.

Oh that game sounds great. I will have to go check out "Rayman Raving Rabbids"! I was wondering how they would incorporate running into this. Yes, I did read the same thing, that with the exercise one that is coming out you will have to purchase a balancing board. I'll do it. It's just too cool of a game. I'm sure the balancing board, getting your legs into the game as well, will make it that much more fun. I just hope it's not as hard to find as the original Wii was.
