Why do people make up stories and lies?

It has been weeks already when i got a call from a friend ( well she wasn't really a close friend of mine, i know her cause she's a gf of my husband's friend) and still i couldn't forget it. Couldn't believe it. When i answered my phone the first thing she said was " where are you?"; i replied "home". She wouldn't believe me that i was at home that time. She asked me again, and again my reply was the same "home". Then i started to wonder why she sounded so suspicious and worried. When i asked her i was so shocked! i had no idea about the rumours and the stories that's spreading around. She said, the wife of my one of my husband's friend gave her my number and told her that my husband kicked me out of the house, that i wasn't living in our house anymore and the worst was my husband has a new gf and i know about it. I was soo shocked! of course it wasn't true at all. I was never kicked out of the house. Me and my husband had some arguments but it was never serious, we've always talked about it and made up. My husband told me to not mind the stories, knowing the type of person she is..we wouldn't be surprised. I know my husband is right, but still am hurt. I consider them as my friends, and i still don't know why they made up those stories. I can't understand why others have to make up stories to hurt others.

Jealousy. They just want to make trouble, but it will come back to haunt them. Besides, why didn't she just come out and ask you instead of believing what others said..Even if something is going on between you and your husband that is nobodys business. I am sorry that you have been hurt, just because someone can't mind their own business. Keep your chin up.

My husband told me the same too, they're just jealous. It is really none of their business at all. Am not mad at them but my friendship with them won't be the same anymore. Thank you for your nice words. :)

Some people like to cause trouble. Maybe you have the family life she wants, or maybe your hair is prettier than hers. Some people like the attention they get from starting drama for others. They kind of feel better about themselves wehn they are starting trouble for someome they could possibly be jelous of. I have an acquaintence like this. The rumors have been flying about me lately! I just shrug it off...I know it isn't true, and so do my friends and family. I would watch your friend closely though. good luck!

I am being more careful now. After what happened, i am more cautious about who my real friends are. Maybe she's jealous because am younger than her...hahahaha... Thanks. :)

life is a bed of roses sometimes. it looks nice but ouch! it hurts at some point, too. i mean, we try to be happy and contented with our own lives. but there are just people who, instead of being happy for us, they try to spoil our happiness. they are all around. sometimes, it's just hard to tell who our friends really are. but that's life. thing is, for as long as you and your husband love each other and in a happy relationship, never mind what others say about you. they are just either jealous or envious. so, let them be. it hurts to hear such rumors ofcourse. but soon, you'll forget about it. atleast you know how *ugly* such so called friends of yours can be. ... anne

people that are like that are so bored in their own lives they make up things that are dramatic and add excitement because of the attention they are getting... I would tell her if "your so Frickin bored get a hobby and stay out of my life!" that should let her know that your pissed...good luck

My husband actually talked to his friend. And my husband made it clear to him that he's pissed off about it, that he should tell her wife to keep her mouth shut! i think they got the message. and i don't think we'll be seeing much of them again. Thanks.
