having a baby

I was wondering how old too old to have a baby is? Ive always wanted a child of my own. I currently have a 15 year old step daughter. I am 36. I just havnt been blessed and I currently with my situation with my husband I dont think its the right time.How long do I wait? And I was wondering if I should go to the doctors to see why I havent concieved yet. Is this exspensive and does insurance cover the cost?

I had my youngest child when I was 35. I know that they generally say after 40 it becomes very risky. You need to talk to your doctor. With better health care, women are having babies much later in life. But also consider this: I am approaching fifty, I still have my youngest to put through college, and my husband wants to retire, but how can we?
