People get depressed for various reasons. In case you get depressed for certain reasons, how you do over come it. In case I get depressed for any reasons, I will go to riverside and sit for long time and slowly I would feel better otherwise I will go to temple and pray God. In both ways I get over my depression. What is your solution to get over your depression?

I do get depression sometimes, but I always take shelter in meditation and each time I complete 30 minute meditation and exercises, I am rejuvenated and feel fresh and forget about depression.

i was actually clinically diagnosed to be depressed. in your case, are you sure it is really depression that you're feeling or just sadness? you see, going to the riverside or going to the temple doesn't make depression go away. why? because depressed people don't even have the drive to get out of bed, or take a shower or eat. all they do is lie in bed and think...all bad thoughts for that matter... i got over my depression by going to a psychiatrist. try to find one that is good in your area. they will know if in case it is depression you are suffering from. if it is, they will be able to help you.

Dear crazydog76, while appreciating your comments I would like to inform you that degree of depression from human to human varies. Your depression might have been deep rooted. I am a man. Therefore I used to analysis the cause of my depression while sitting on the riverside or going to temple. When I really know what made me to get depressed, then the depression vanishes. During those time I think boldly so I can recognize the cause of my depression. Basically sadness is the root cuase of depression. Thanking you for sharing your comments. Have a nice day.

dear navtech...i hope i didn't offend you by my comment. what i am actually trying to say is, if you think depression is what you are feeling, it would be best if you try to go to a professional who can help you. depression, deep-rooted or not, is a sickness that needs to be treated. hope all goes well with you.

Whenever I get depressed, the first thing I do is to go away from the place that has caused me the depression. This helps to cool myself, forget the bad things and rewind me. If possible, I will visit the beach near to my home and spend sometime watching the rolling waters in front of me there. Also I will call to some of my close friends and talk to them until I feel better.

I usually take a nice book - usually Indian philosophy or Bhagvad Geeta and read for an hour or so, I usually feel uplifted after that.

Dear dbhattji, Do you know I have read more than 500 times Bhagvad Geeta. Honestly I agree with you. Bhagvad Geeta really uplift the thought. Every time I read I get some good feeling. I do not know Sanskrit but sloghas has meaning in Tamil. I used to feel those who knew Sanskrit as blessed people. Have a nice day.

I get over my depressed feelings by solving the problems that cause them in the first place. I've been that person who is so depressed that I couldn't even get out of bed. My thoughts where dark and deep, my hatred for myself great. That was several years ago and my life has improved a lot. I still get depressed and I'll reiterate again, solve the problem causing the depression, remove the depression. I know that this can not be applied to 100% of all depression, but if put to the test, you'll find that the % is high.

Dear Jane_harper, you are right. I also try to find out the cause of my depression. Once the root is found out, the depression automatically vanishes. Thank you for sharing your comments. Have a nice day.
