What will become of Michael Vick?

Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick has been indicted form dog fighting. In this country one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. What do you think his team, and the NFL should do? What about the companies with whom he has endorsement contracts? Is he guilty?

I think that he could lose some endorsement contracts even if he is not guilty. If he is not guilty he will still be on the team but his teammates may look at him differently now. He might not be the leader he once was on the team.

I just saw that Nike has postponed the launch of his new show even though they have not released him from his contract. More repercussions are likely to follow.

I think this is horrible and being the animal lover that I am I think he should be kicked off the team and sentenced just as anybody else would be sentenced for such a crime. This is a disgrace for the fans and how could he do something like this to his career, such an idiot he is to ruin his career like this.

I agree but we must also realize that he has not been convicted yet. That being said he will, no matter what, be a distraction to the team and the fans as well as the NFL as a whole.I heard this morning that the Falcons are considering making him take a leave of absence while this case is adjudicated. I hope this brings to the public that this kind of "sport" is barbaric. You don't have to be an animal lover to see that. It does not matter what kind of animal- dogs, birds,or what ever. It is cruelty in its worst form. It must be stopped. There are a lot of people who are involved in these activities. They should be put on notice that this will not be tolerated.

One is only innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The court of public opinion is a different matter. I think there is too much evidence that he was heavily involved. I suspect that he The NFL won't do anything unless he is found guilty but the companies that endorse him will surely drop him if public opinion of him drops much lower.

You are probably right. I just wonder what affect this will have on the Falcons. Can you imagine as they anounce the team the music "who let the dogs out" plays?
