A rocking chair friend is that one person you want siting next to you on the porch sipping ice tea and sharing stories. That one person want to share your old age with that is not your spouse. I have a rocking chair friend. Her name is Shawn and she is the most beautiful woman i know. I know when i am old and gray she is going to be that person i want to share those golden moments with. the girl who is going to hold my fake teach while i fix my lipstick. so, who is your rocking chair friend?

My rocking chair friend has to be my aunt name Beverly. We feel like sisters instead because of our age difference. We grew up in the same house, had our up & down moments and shared our laughs.Til this day we can talk about anything and have our laughs and go out and have a good time. She is more like a sister/ best friend. She is such a sweet person.

I think my rocking chair friend is definitely going to be my friend Leslie. We share so much together, that no one would really believe that we have very little in common, accept that we both needed a friend we could count on. Even our fights help us to grow stronger. We make try to tip the other over, but in the end, we will still be rocking chair buddies and the very best of friends.

If not my husband then my best friend Ramona who is living in Hawaii. I can just imagine us though, sitting there, reminiscing, talking about the old days, old flames, our children, our husbands etc. I don't think it would be ice tea in my glass though LOL

I think my rocking chair buddy would have to be my daugher, she would sit all day and chat with me ,shareing great stories about life and all we have done together and apart. When im old she will get my coffee and make sure im comfortable in my chair and cover me with a lap blanket to make sure I didnt get cold, read my mail when im to blind to see and be my ears when I no longer hear.

Well I guess I don't have a rocking chair friend. We live out in the boon docks and I don't have lots of good friends, but I have lots of friends. I know this doesn't make sense, but we put on karaoke so I have lots of friends that come to that, but to be close to them. Not really. They all have disfunctions. One of my friends moved to another state and was just home and never came to see me. Another friend got hooked up with this guy and she is all into him now and we hardly ever see her. We have some older friends who are in there 60's who we hang around sometimes with, but I doubt they are around when I get to my rocking years. So I guess I would have to say my husband will be my rocking friend.

Well first let me say, this reminds me of sitting in the porch swing with my grandma on a summer evening. I so miss being able to do that now and then. Although next week I will get to sit in the porch swing with her again and let the summer night roll by. I will of course have to chase my kids now and then, but I will enjoy it to the fullest since I live far away now. I think I would like that friend to be either my sister, who lives several states away or my best friend Jayne. They are both great people and someone who I could just spend hours with no matter what we were doing. Sitting on the porch in a rocking chair is a might fine place to be on a summer nite. Thanks for refreshing some old memories.
