I have been a bit a quiet lately and I know that on the Discussion Side
The reason being
I have stopped smoking and I am not coping to good specially not when the Doctor then tells me I have to loose 7 pounds as according to her I am overweight by 7 pounds and overweight will put pressure on my Lungs, she was telling me what I can eat and can't, I am just over 5" Foot tall and I weigh 56 Kilos which is 112 Pounds ( just under 9 stone)
I have asked her if she would like me to stop breathing to as that puts Pressure on my Lungs to, she was not happy with that, well it seems I do stop one thing and then she throws another thing in my Face, I sat here 2 hours that night crying
The Reason I am forcing myself to stop smoking is she told me if I don't I will not be here in 6 years. As the Lung Xray has come back showing that my Lungs have deteriorated more. So I give up the one enjoyment I have left and please I do not want someone coming in here shouting about Smoking damaging Health and all that Cr*p as I do not need to hear that
I do not Drink I do not go out I can't work anymore I can't walk like I used to without having to stop for half an hour so that was all I had left, so please if you are going to throw abuse stay away, I know my Friends won't but I know what Members are on here that will. My Man has told me to tell her that he likes me this way and that I am not fat, that it took him a long time to get a bit of weight on me as I used to weigh 96 Pounds and looked Ill with it
But that is not the only reason, little Gissi is not well either at the Moment and I am worried about him, I am hoping that he will perk up again soon
So that is why I have been quiet on writing Discussions
This is causing me a bit of Stress specially the Doctor but I have to stay of the Cigarettes

First of all, I would suggest you find another doctor! 112 pounds is not fat on anybody!! You took a very good step in quitting smoking. It is the hardest thing in the world. I officially quit in february but have had some setbacks. don't give up but also don't kick yourself if you are struggling.

You were never fat. Your weight is ideal. I used to weigh that much and would love to weigh like that again. I'm told I have to lose 2.8 kgs to match my height. I'm a bit taller than you.
Your doctor has a personal preference for a little underweight as ideal for your lungs/ breathing. If you are breathing as usual it means the weight is not a problem. Your doctor could have put the advice in a better way. She could have told you that eventually you'll have to eat less of food and drinks that are high calories. Well Sweetie she can get lost I am sick of her picking on something all the time All she is doing is causing me Stress and I can't be asked with it as you know for a long time I was well under weight and my previous Doctor was worried as I was not putting it on now this is trying to tell me I am fat
Gissi is doing better so I hope it stays that way he has been really poorly

Empty feelings - eat something you cannot do everthing at once and don't need to worry about your weight at the moment, the last thing you want is to get completely depressed about that on top of everything else!
You are doing really well and only you really know how difficult this is at the moment. The people who care about you will continue to support you as best we can, when we can, just do your best and be your sweet self, no-one can ask for more than that!

Lots of hugs and well done for trying hard and giving up smoking. Is the doctor perfect, the exact weight for her height, non drinker, non smoker? Maybe she lives in a cupboard when she's not nagging other people and doesn't know about life. You don't sound as if you need to lose any weight, the charts are only a guide and you are meant to allow a few pounds either way.
Hope Gissi is better soon and you find a doctor with a brain and a heart.

I think you should change your doctor. 7lbs overweight - how is that a problem exactly? Obviously if you keep putting it on them it might become a problem but I'm about 5 inches taller than you and about 4 stome heavier. So, I'm overweight. I'm healthy otherwise and I'm still beautiful! :) I'm sure you are too. You seem to have an awful lot to deal with and for a doctor to tell you to lose 7lbs, especially when you're only 9 stome in the first place, seems just cruel of the doctor to be honest.

I am truly sorry that you have so much on your plate right now, gabs, but keep the faith and things will begin to look up for you. Sorry to hear about your Gissi also. I will keep you both in my prayers. My gosh, I have not weighed 112 pounds since I was a kid, LOL. I do believe in faith healing and will be praying for that for you. Your man sounds like the kind of man any woman would be proud of. Take care.

Oh yes he is believe me
I have never met one like him and after my bad Marriage I always though that no one like him existed he is so supportive
Thank you for keeping me in your Prayers and little Gissi he is on the Mend I think as he is getting better

Oh Gabs I sympathise - it's so hard to stop smoking. I'm trying to get myself in the frame of mind to try stopping again because I know I really should and although generally I'm in good health I am beginning to feel the effects of years of smoking and drinking now! I know it's a struggle but you'll get through it. As for losing weight personally I wouldn't even attempt that at the moment no matter what the doc says. Tackle one thing at a time and when you feel ready deal with your weight. Good luck with it all anyway!

Grrr that makes me angry, if we listened to our GPs we wouldn't be able to do anything we enjoy! Can't smoke, can't drink, can't eat, can't breath LOL! Surely if you smoked but cut it down, had one when you needed one that would be ok? Everything in MODERATION. No need to cut it out totally. And besides 7 pounds isn't that much? Hardly overweight! Good for you for your comment, some doctors think they are gods! I hate mine with a passion so I understand where you are coming from my friend. Here's a big hug and I know how supportive of me you are so if you need any extra hugs or words of warmth SHOUT, SCREAM and feel free to rant away xxxx

She's talking out of her a55, ruddy cheek! I took a lot at your photo, without making you blush I think you are lovely to the point of stunning, how dare she, I bet she looks like the back end of a bus, you know it could be jealousy! That's one of the great pros for me moving! I can get a decent doctor and one that doesn't have it in for me with daggers or someone who's a complete cold fish! Get rid of her my lovely friend, she is wolfies favourite terminology

This Doctor is awful just like yours is Sweet
I hope you are doing better there I really do

I am so proud of you on stopping your smoking you have done so good just dont let the doc. stop that process ok.
ANd I think your pic make you look so good and to me healthy . Some times Doctors just think they know what is best for us but then we know our own bodies better than they do.

I won't let her get me down I am just so fed up with her ways Gissi has got that rash again and this time it is really getting to him he is just not interested in playing or anything He is eating and drinking though so that is a good sign but he is a bit better today Hugs to you

Oh sweetie thats really a tough one. I havent been posting either because of this dam ivoy poision. I feel so misarable. So I know the feeling honey. I will keep you and Gissi in my prayers. For someone I never met I sure do love you and that little man. I really hope things get better for you please just hang in there. Big hugs to you and Gissi. Have you been to the Chemist they might be able to help you

My goodness you do have your hands full. Doctors are supposed to have our best interests at heart. You seem to have a lot on your plate. If you ever need to vent, pm me as I am a good listener. You hang in there, things will work out for you. Your health comes first so we completely understand your silence. Do you want me to add you to my healing list?

Our little angel is still in China...we are still awaiting the final travel papers and it looks as though it won't be until September for them to go get her...but we eagerly await her wonderful loving addition to our family...
I'll post info as we get it!!! Thanks for asking...My shoulder is healing nicely..just takes time and until they release me to be on the computer I am being a "good girl"...so not on much...Be well, my friend....and God Bless

Angel I know everything that is going on and you are being really, really strong under the circumstances I am so proud of you! You are doing great with the smoking, you need to tell that uptight not nice word doctor where to get off and we think we know gissi is going to be ok - he told me when we talked on the mobile earlier! Stay strong sweety , you know what they say if you need me just whistle!xxxxx

My gabs you do have a full plate to contend with..No giving up smoking ain't easy..I know as for awhile there I did quit but went back to it...but my own breathing is definitely being affected by it, and I want to quit again myself...seems trying the second time round is hard...And Goodness....112 pounds isn't that bad..I'm only 5'1" and weight about 125..could stand to lose some weight myself..And poor Gissi..I hope he gets better..what's wrong? Maybe he senses your pain and is feeling it too...animals are very perseptive

Gissi is better I believe he suffers Asthma as his breathing was bad also his Allergie was back which I have near enough cured now with Lavender Oil so he is a lot Happier, but I was scared as for 2 days his breathing was terrible and he had no life in him at all
I sprayed my blue Inhaler around him so he breathed it in and that helped him to stop coughing and to breathe
But he is better
As for me well I seem to feel worse at the moment but I am still hanging on in there

I responded to your other discussion about the mishaps with Gissi and that potpourri and patchouli oil---it seems that Gissi seems better with that..think you found a cure for his breathing problems with the patchouli?? Just a thought I was wondering about

Don´t let this "excellent" doctor´s comments affect you. You´ve done something very important for your health by giving up smoking. Congrats to you!!
Are you sure this "lady" has obtained her diploma? How can she say that you´re overweight? 56 Kilos/ 5 Foot is considered "normal weight". I can´t believe she actually said this to you.
I can understand that you´re depressed, it´s bad enough having to live with a serious chronic disease, the last thing you needed was this exaggerated lecture from somebody who shouldn´t be a doctor. I´m sorry if I´m not cheering you up by all this, but the least thing I can do is to show you that I feel with you.
I´m really glad that you´ve got a supportive family. I suppose they help you through this difficult time.
Please change doctors, Gabs. This woman seems to be toxic.

I will have to look into it but I am planning to move to another Area anyway so I might wait a bit and just avoid the Doctor, when I am sick with my Lungs I see the Nurse who specialized in my Illness
This Doctor wants me to go in to be weighed every 10 Days well I am not going I can weigh myself here at home and get a Lecture lol

My goodness dear, I'm not sure where to start or even what to say. The thing that keeps popping in my head is that I think you need a new doctor. Yes, she may be right that smoking is not good for you but a doctor can tell you that in a way that does not make you feel so bad. A doctor should also be caring about you as a person. If you do not like your doctor, it will be hard for you to listen to her. As for you being overweight, I saw your picture on Jimbo's forum, I can only wish I was overweight like you. I don't think you are overweight at all. As for Gissi, I hope he is feeling better now. You know I am here if you need me. I wish you the best of luck but I think it would be better if you worked on one thing at a time. The stress that it is causing is not good for you either. Big hugs to you.

Personally if I were you I'd get a new doctor and tell that one were to shove it. You are fine right at the weight you are. I did a quick check on several different charts and for your height you should weight 102 to 123 pounds, you are right in the middle so how she can say you are over weight is beyond me. She'd really have a cow if I came to her office. Trust me as someone who is over weight I can tell you that you are not.
If you want to quit smoking that is your choice and I hope it gets less stressful as time goes on. I do understand how it can be your one enjoyment. I don't go out, I can't do much either and smoking is one thing I do enjoy. Tell the doctor where to go and just relax. The stress isn't doing you any good and just makes it worse.
I'm sure Gissi will perk up. More then likely he's feeling your stress. Dogs and cats do that, at least mine do.

You are quite welcome hon. I wish you luck on the quiting of smoking. Your doctor should be congratulating you instead of adding to the stress. Trying to quit is hard enough without adding stress to it because then all you want to do is relieve the stress. I wish there was more I could do to help.

I'd be stressed too. Qutting smoking sure isn't easy that's for sure. But I have to say I wish the doctor would tell me I am only overweight by 7 lbs. What a dream that would be. I am really surprised at your weight that your doctor would say anything. Well I wish you well and hope that you are back chatting soon.

Hang in there, hun. Do the best that you can to stop smoking. I am surprised that the doc wants you to lose 7 pounds. I am 4'11" and 125 pounds. I am not fat either. I want to lose about 5 to 10 pounds but my doctor told me to do it slowly. I smoke also so I truly understand what you are going through with that. I have tried to stop several times. It is very hard. What is going on with Gissi? I am sorry to hear that he is under the weather. I hope both you and Gissi get to feeling better real soon. Have a wonderful day.

Well she is one evil Person and I will do my best to avoid her now I am going to have to be really bad to go to her I can't handle this anymore
Gissi is better but he has been poorly for a week problems Breathing and just no Energy but he is getting better
