Highway Flirting - Do you have a similar experience?

It usually takes me an hour to get home, and usually when I'm driving i'm too self-absorbed listening to audio books. However, last night, I noticed that everytime I stopped at a light I have the same car beside me. I looked at the driver and it was a handsome guy. I just glanced at him, and kept driving. At the next stop, I can't resist I took a look again, and this time he gave me a smile. Not wanting to be rude, I smiled back. Then it becomes repetitive, since traffic was heavy, our cars was almost neck-to-neck. He keeps smiling at me. Finally, at one stop, he mouthed hello, raised his phone and asked aloud for my phone number. I just laughed at him and shook my head. He still kept following but finally I lost him in the traffic. I had to admit, I was flattered and found the whole incident fun. When I told a girlfriend about the incident, she told me I should have given my number. I said are you crazy? That guy is a total stranger. Anyway, i'm wondering if anybody had experienced something similar to this. Also if you were in my shoes, would you have done the same thing, or do something differently. Furthermore any comments about the little incident will be appreciated.

Sounds an interesting experience. But...I think..you did the right thing...by not exchanging your phone number...there were 50-50 chances..that the stranger was honest or not. deepak

Thanks for the response. Sure it was flattering to have an attractive stranger ask you for your phone number, but it doesn't mean you have to throw caution to the wind.

Maybe it is the fact that I don't drive, but this has never happened to me. I have been flirted at before, but I'm married now and happy so I don't take kindly to men who flirt with me. I suppose it is flattering at times though and makes you realise that you are still pretty.

I have had many men flirt with me, and although it is flattering, sometimes it can be scary when they keep progressing. Just the last time I went into the grocery store, I had a man say, "hi, how are you?" I said "Hi, I'm fine," but that is as far as I took it, no more. Many people hit on me, may it be at the grocery store or highway. I take it as a compliment, but no more.

I agree it is flattering when guys flirt with us. However, in this world where a lot of bad things happen, I always apply a lot of caution. Better be careful than sorry..

The Phenomenon, though probably not new,has been dubbed "Clirting" in Ireland! (Car fLIRTING)I was listening to a radio phone in on a Dublin based Radio station recently, and they were discussing this..apparently it helps if there's a lot of one way traffic systems in a city or town (In this case,Dublin) Where singles in their respective cars driving slow for a time parallel to one another have a chance to check one another out and maybe decide to do something about it..the Guy I heard on the phone in described how he had his number written on a piece of paper scrunched in a ball on the seat beside him (It wasn't clear if he had a bunch of them ready made on the passenger seat,or if he had time while stopped in traffic to write one!) He made eye contact, and smiled like you did,and motioned the Lady to wind down her window, she did,and He tossed the note through her window! I don't think She called him back, but he said a Friend had some success, getting a few dates from it! Good luck if you decide to try it!
