Do you know anyone that should not be allowed near a computer?

Do you have any friends or family who you would not want near your computer? Are you afraid that they may mess up your computer or destroy it? I have seen some people who just can not do anything right on the computer. They delete things and do all sorts of strange things with the computer. How would you react if that person messed up your computer?

I am always afraid to let my boyfriends son on the computer. I won't let him unless someone is here with him. He gets mad at us for that. But besides safety concerns, I feel that he really isn't responsible enough to be on it with no one around. He has messed up the computer before but luckily I was able to fix it.

Me - Here is another picture of me going further out into the ocean on Shackleford Island. You can go pretty far out and still be in shallow water.
I would probably be nervous too allowing a child to use my computer or someone learning a computer for the first time. You never know what children will do or find when on a computer.

YES! children, I always am afraid of children who wants to use my system to play games. Surprising their parents never descourage them from asking me even when I tell them my system is not for games.

I do believe some people should stay away from the computer. Particularly those who have no idea how to use one. Also people who have abused their use of computers in the past should be banned, even if they know how to use the computer.

They would definitely not touch my computer again or go anywhere near it. Thankfully, I do not know anyone that is like that at all or I would go crazy myself.

My son, I have to be careful that my son doesn't touch our new laptop. We have an old one so he plays games online, so he knows not to touch it, but he keeps on insisting to want to play on our one instead of his own LOL it just looks newer thats all!

Yes, I know someone who shouldn’t be let near a computer, it’s is my dad! He always does something to his computer and I end up spending hours trying to make work again. He loves to go in and in his words “fiddle” with the computer so that he can learn to understand the aspects of the operating system and of course, he messes it all up!...lol He has done everything from erase programs, changing the windows compatibility information, switching the ram and the hard drive, erased the sticky key board option and endless amounts of deleting…lol.. I have already had to go in and add a password for all the operating system applications in the hopes that it would restrain him from “fiddling” with the computer again! Another thing that I should mention is I DO NOT ALLOW him anywhere near my computer...lol

It sounds like your dad could use some computer training. You will have to teach him the ABC's of computers. :-) Wow. He has done a lot of things with the computer. I can see why you would not want him around your computer. LOL

I have met a few people who could not resist changing all the settings and programs, despite the fact that they were totally incapable of correcting any problems that they caused. I remember one guy many years ago who bought an old 486 system that was not working. I installed DOS for him and then installed Windows 3.1 through DOS so that he would have a working system. He called me the next day to say that it was not working again, so I went round and formatted the hard drive and reinstalled everything for him. Needless to say I received another call a few days later to say it was not working again, and this time he had used the disks that I had left to reinstall again after watching me but Windows would not load. When I tried to reformat the drive again I encountered a strange situation, because the FDISK utility was reporting a different size of hard drive to what it had done previously. I checked the BIOS and discovered that the hard drive had been manually set to a different volume, and when I questioned this he told me that he had simply been curious what it would do if he changed the settings. It was a nightmare trying to reset the BIOS because it was asking for the number of heads and other dubious information, although I finally managed to correct it and reinstall the operating system.

actually i do have many relatives and friends i don't want to be around with my PC. the problem is if they want to use my PC for their projects or just want to play games on my PC i'm having a hard time saying no to them so what i did to protect my PC is i use a software called DEEPFREEZE, it restores back your PC to it's original state when it reboots. so im not afraid if they delete accidentally delete or damage a file on my PC cause i know that it will automatically comeback when i restart my PC
