I am such a sucker for an animal in need

Tonight my daughter comes racing into the house and wakes me up to explain there are baby kittens that need our help. As I tried to wake up I was only catching part of what she was saying. Once I got her to settle down I found out that they found a mother cat dead with kittens trying to milk off her. Well my daughter knows how much I care about animals so of course she was the one that asked her mom none of the other girls asked their mom to take care of them. From the looks of them they are a few weeks old so that is a good thing. The one I am not sure is going to make it because my older cat who hates all other animals came up and started licking it. It tells me she was worried about it so I should be. It looked ok but again my cat doesn't do that to other animals. So now I have 3 kittens in my home to look after. I guess it is good to care about animals and that my daughter has compassion for animals but my gosh I just got rid of 7 a few months ago and that wasn't easy to find them good homes. Wish us luck on getting them all healthy so they are able to go to new homes.

Oh thank goodness there are 'suckers' like you out there..that are obviously a great role model for your daughter. I can appreciate your dilema...we have five cats and two big dogs. I do not know what I'd do in your sitation...probably get out the eye-dropper and start feeding them...what else can you do? The fact that your older cat gave them her vote of confidence shows me that they were meant to come into your home...and I sure will be wishing you and yours every success. I will check back for an up-date...maybe you could post a picture of them when they are a little stronger. Perhaps there are some Mylotters in your area that would be willing to give some 'Mylot kittens' a new home.

I was this way growing up, at one point in time, we had 22 cats and then my dad put his foot down and said no more! I hope the little one does well, it always seems so touch and go, and with your cat giving it some attention that makes me worry, too. But, maybe she knew that this is what that little kitten needed. I wish you good luck with them all, and especially the one in need! Your daughter will carry this instict with her the rest of her life, too and will always help out animals in need. My son is now the same way, too.

Bless your daughters special sweet heart. The world needs more people like her in it. Too many humans have no respect, or deep love for animals. Bless you both.

I am glad that there are good people like you out there trying to help animals in need. Must admit I am the same. No matter how many cats I have (5 at present), - there is always room for one more, if it is homeless and in need. I hope the little kitten you are worried about survives, and I hope eventually you can find homes for your new babies. Take care.

I love animals as well, especially cats. When I get my own home, i plan to be able to help any animal that needs it, if I can. I can't do that now, because as bad as I feel about leaving a cat out on the streets, I knows they are better off out there, where someone might help them, then to bring them home and let them face my step-dad. It was really nice what you did though. ^_^

You are a wonderful soul to help out. The story of the mommy cat is just so sad and those kittens would be in the same place she is if it weren't for you.

oh those poor little guys! they are certainly lucky to have had a compassionate little girl find them...and a compassionate mom too! its always an exciting/dreaded moment when the kid runs in with "look what i found!" cause you Want to help and darn if they arent the cutest things, but at the same time...you're thinking "oh no not again!" lol keep up the good work, and i hope they all make it to find loving homes!

It's great that you're willing to take them in and care for them and then find them new homes. And that your daughter seems to have compassion for the animals, too. Good luck!
