Hello all you crochet addicts! I have been slowly working on a baby blanket for my son, due in October. I also have to start on a baby blanket for my sister who is due with a girl in December. That alone made me realize I have to really pick up that needle and get to work. I then realized my daughter will be 2 in November. I decided last year that I will start making her the care bear crocheted characters out of the book. I'll do one a year until she turns 10, because that is how many patterns they have in the book. I put the age she turns on the hip instead of the hearts. So this means I have a blanket to have finished by Mid October, a carebear to be finished by mid november, and another blanket to be done by late Nov/early Dec. ...and here I am talking about it instead of working! haha What are your current crochet projects?

I just finished 2 baby blankets for my newest great niece. One was pink and the other yellow. I just did a simple double crochet. I am starting on one for my niece, the baby's mother, that way they can snuggle together, and think about me. LOL I enjoy making them and giving them away. The Care Bear idea sounds really neat. I would like to do something a little more challenging but usually I do just simple stitches. They still look great when I am finished. Good luck on getting all these projects done, and I know you will. Congratulations on a new baby coming soon, how exciting. I bet your daughter is excited as well, a baby brother to play with.

I used to do nothing but simple stitches because when I would read other patterns it would sound kind of hard. I finally decided I was bored with it and wanted to challenge myself. They have videos to show you step by step stitches that you aren't so confident about. It was much easier than I though and lots of fun. I never do much with simple things any more.. the 2 baby blankets i'm making are very time consuming which is why it's so important I get on the ball. haha Sorry to anyone else who is reading this post twice. My internet had an issue and didn't show that it had posted until now.

Thank you for the information about the videos. I find it easier to see it than read it. That way I can learn easier. I tried to do one about a month ago and I gave up..LOL..

I am not very good at crocheting but I love to knit. I will be heading home to the USA in October from a year long stay in the UK and I will probably be knitting for a special little girl - my great grandaughter who is 8. The only thing I can do in crochet - is granny squares - I once made a bed cover all in granny squares 2 shades of blue and white. Sounds like you are going to have busy fingers for the next few months. Good luck with your projects.

I started knitting a few months ago myself. It can be a bit more challenging at times but it doesn't get as boring as crocheting can at times. Although you can do a lot of the same type of projects by crocheting, knitting adds a certain quality look to it that I prefer.
