coach purse

ok, i had this friend...lets call her Mooch(ull understand y)she brought over a coach purse & left it on the counter knowing i had a pit puppy(super hipper & can reach the top of counter)anyways, puppy got to it(scatches).....the deal was, i will replace the purse (1 that looks similar...at the time, price did not matter...so i thought) she then calls me up & says, "i have an idea, the purse cost $800 so i just found a purse for $250, matching shoes for $100....& u can give me the rest of the $800 in massages (im a massage therapist).....so do u think Mooch is the right name for her?lol...i told her, thats a lot of $, i know a couple leather shops that i can take it to..... so i took the purse into the store & got it appraised b4 i spend too much $ on it....it got appraised at $425.....ya, i was PIST... this girl tried to get me for about $400. AH,YA! another thing , the rapair lady said that scratches r meant to come out in this particular leather but the water stain(that she did & admits to) can not....so i came to the conclusion that she tried to get me to pay her 4 a purse that has no value to it. i was willing to pay & repair it till i found out she lied....so i told her to take back her purse & that were no longer friends. she then told me shes gonna...i dont remember how she put it but i think shes trying to serve me with papers.....anybody have any suggestions on what i should do?

Yikes. If that person was a true friend they wouldn't be trying to take you like that. A new bag AND shoes? AND Massages. Sheesh! Why don't you go clean her house and wash her car too.
I would try to get the leather repair place to put something in writing if you already didn't have that done. Just in case she tries to take you to small claims court or something.

so, u think mooch is a good name 4 her? lol....ya, i have a lot of documentation of this incident. she harrassed me every 1/2 hr 4 8 hrs 1 day on my phone which i have it all saved. including her admitting she did the water stain, i can pick up info on the purse when i need, also, i took pics of the purse after i fied it, & i have witnesses. the day after the scrathes happened, she came into my work w/ the purse & told the guys i work with, "i dont even like this purse" & started offering it to ppl 4 free....huh??????????? thank u 4 ur comment. karma will get her

Get what the repair shop told you in writing. then if she does try to take you to court, show them to the judge, and you will win. Really, it was her negligence for leaving her purse at your house. If she does sue you, counter sue for defamation of character

thank u 4 the counter sue idea. i do have the repair guys info incase i do need everything in writing. also, she emailed me about ever 1/2 hr 4 8 hrs harrassing me. i have those saved too. she really dont have a case. & if she did, she threw it out the window when she lied....right?

Sounds like she is trying to get a lot more out of you than she deserves... It is understandable for you to just replace the bag. Even if she did buy it for $800 obviously that's not what it is worth now. Why would you have to give her all that money? It doesn't make sense. If you can fix the bag or get her a new one that looks exactly the same, why should she complain? She wouldn't be losing anything. She would be right where she left off. I highly doubt she can sue you over a little purse lol. If I were you I would be the bigger person and replace the purse. If that is not good enough for her then she is a pretty bad friend.
