When Actors get fired do they get to apply for unemployment?

My daughter asked me this question and I laughed so hard. I don't think they receive unemploymentdo you?

Well my Ex boyfriend who is a actor told me that they are able to pull un-employment because they are also taxed. they are also apart of a union which requires them to pay dues and have certain benifits which includes un-employment

Interesting question from your daughter. I would say if they were not famous, maybe. But the famous actors heck no. They have money.

Off course not, I don't think that they need to. They make so much a year that it wouldn't matter to them whatsoever.

Here in Canada, they pay into employment Insurance just like the rest of us, so, i believe that after working the minimum amount, and getting laid off, the can get unemployment just like the rest ofus
