Truth is the truth and the truth here is I've been missing in action from the Internet for weeks. I'm sorry but my heart just isn't in it and believe me my paypal account is hurting because of it. I've weeded, mowed, hauled mulch, taken tons of grandkid pictures, had a yard sale, and just sat watching the garden grow... I've not been working much on the computer - myLot or anyplace else:( Ok, I have picked up a new writing assignment - writing daily for a blog on Las Vegas (kinda fun) and will in the near future be picking up one on travel (really looking forward to that one) so have been on pretty much every day but believe me it's for as short a time as possible. So, My question to you is this - when your Internet earnings drop do you accept responsibility for it or do you blame it on the good weather, bad programs, discussions being deleted, or your dog ate your computer? The attached photo is just one of the many summer flower shots I've gotten the last few weeks. If interested you can see more photos on my blog. http://byfaithonly.blogspot.com/

I have to accept the full blame for my loss in earnings. I admit that I have been busy with other things. I wish I had more time to do everything that I want to get done, but the truth is that there are only so many hours in a day, and we just can't get to everything that we want to do no matter how hard we try.

LOL - I'm still trying to figure out how to get 48 hours of work or activities into a 24 hour day.

I know what you mean. I think we all do that sometimes. I guess that we need to learn to take a break once in a while though.

Bad thing about me is a take a break and my mind keeps working - after the break I have 20 more things added to my list.

Hello Faith, how are you now? I wonder if you received my email. We're both in the same league. This is actually my first post for today and it's near 1 AM already. Since the recent happenstance of my account, I lost my motivation to hang on anymore. I don't need to blame anything or anyone as this is something that can happened to any members especially the senior one. My earnings is terrible also and this is a first for me since joining the community. I don't regret my earnings but rather missing all my friends who used to be active. The crowd and atmosphere is just not the same anymore.

I'm the same, miss the earnings but miss the people more - I felt so 'out of touch' not knowing what's been going on except for the few emails here and there I read. I was up until after 4 a.m. last night catching up with 'friends' and still didn't get to all but the whole time I was 'ok is this one going to be deleted? Am I going to get banned for something I said?' I never used to be like that - I read the guidelines and follow them fairly closely but there's so much of it going on I just don't know.

Yep same here - that 'fear' of not being able to log in. Actually I've had several friends invite me to join some other forums but my heart just isn't on the internet or computer right now. I'm very excited about some new craft items I've been making and plan to sell soon. Actually calling tomorrow to see if it's too late to get into a craft show this coming weekend. Make some money and be out and about some at the same time.

LOL, believe it or not, I always dreaded the time when I logged in at mylot. I was expecting to see the sign "can't log in" again and again. My heart is not here anymore faith. Only the new members are posting threads and geez...they are diligent. I'm currently on another non-paying forum and you will be surprised to see who are the members there. Most of them are your good friends too. :)

Good for all of you who managed to tear yourself away from the computer and enjoy life! Earning money is great and for must of us a necessity, but while we're glued to our computers attempting to make money, life is passing us by. We have to strike a balance bewtween living and earning. I too am guilty of an unbalanced life. There is no guarantee that we'll be around for another season to weed the garden or mow the lawn (personally I'm not crazy about gardening, but I get out there too). We have to partake of it while we can. I think your picture of the flower is a great shot. Write while you can, but your grandchild won't be 5 again. Enjoy!

Very true, I seem to be living for the moment and not even thinking of next year and will I be able to enjoy, excellent point. Grandson and I are working a happy medium - while I write he has coloring books and stickers to entertain himself. When I finish a short project then we work on a craft or garden project which he's learning both along with cleaning. You know your in trouble when you have a 4 year old informing you 'we need to mop the floor and clean the chairs' - a project that hadn't been done in months before Grandma moved in and now is a weekly task he helps me with.

Hi Faith, I know how you feel. I was gone for 2 weeks on vacation to Montana to see my son. It was great but I never even got on the internet. I got so behind in Mylot friends discussions that I finally decided to just clear my email of all the old email notifications for mylot. Now I am back but a new school year is going to begin soon and I need to be preparing for that so my time here will be limited. Love the flower picture.

I do think once school starts back I'll get more into a routine - grandson starts kindergarden so that will be one not hanging on me every second. Grand-daughter tends to sleep late so hopefully will have a few hours of quiet time to get some writing done. Isn't that flower beautiful - I'd never seen one like it until we moved here, there's a whole bunch of them growing in one of the flower beds.

Hi Faith, it seems during the summer months quite a few people are missing in action. I dont blame them, the weather is nice, no need to sit inside in front of a computer all day. I think if the internet is your only source of income, that might make it more of a prority for you, after all, we all need to earn a living. By all means, get out and enjoy the weather, especially enjoy your grankids (they are only young once ) and have fun. Maybe after the sun goes down you could spend more time online trying to make some money. By the way thats a great picture of a flower. All my best, Terry

Since first starting on the internet I've always noticed a drop in internet activities - vacations, kids home for the summer, and great weather. I really expected less of a 'drop' here on mylot because of the wide range of countries represented around the world but I have seen a drop here also. I've been playing with my camera more and more and finding a wide range of things to photograph - still looking for that 'perfect shot' but having fun too.

Hi Faith, I am a bit guilty of not spending very much time on the Internet and contributing to forums as well. I attribute it a lot to "life happening". Other things become very important and take the place of my Internet ventures. Basically the only place I really come to on the Internet anymore is here on Mylot. With the changes that have been happening I am not even sure how much longer that will happen. It is good to talk to you. cheers,

Good to talk with you also - I am going to keep closer track of what I am doing here. Last night catching up on things I have picked up on a lot of 'unhappy' happenings on mylot which breaks my heart because I do love and enjoy the discussions here and fact is the extra income did come in handy.

LOL - that was me when I first joined myLot, did nothing but hang out here for days and then weeks. I did have to put a stop to that but now it's just the opposite. I'm sure when fall hits I'll be indoors more and around here bugging people more often and regularly.

Oh I like that, I'm playing hookie :) and true I really can only blame myself but then do I really have control over myself? I do wonder sometimes :)

I think it's called 'Internet Burnout' I've gone through it before, will go a month or two where I lose all interest but then will be back full speed ahead with a ton of new ideas and projects on the Internet. I'm doing ok, a little tired and stressed from the whole kids, grandkids, ex-husband thing but it's going better than I had expected. Think my daughter is having the hardest time with it because now her dad has an allie where he didn't before and a lot of things went undone or passed over.

That seems to be common with many of the 'old timers' here not here has much as in the past. I can't say I've gotten bored with myLot or the internet but it was a long winter and between fun, ministry, and work I was sometimes on the computer days and days at a time with little to no breaks. This is like a vacation for me and I'm not leaving the property :)

Adults???? Oh yea I'm old and going into my second childhood. I have and do always accept responsibility but sometimes after years and years it is fun to just have some fun from time to time.

It depends on the program, as to who I blame fior my internet earnings dropping. In the case of My Lot, I directly blame the earnings. They sare incredibly low now. The oither day I did 40 responses & only earned 38c. It is just not wortyh the effort. Other programs I promote, may in part be my fault for not promotiong as much. You may be better off doing your gardening & your new writing assignment. It's good to focus away from the computer from time to time. I have read at least two discussions tyoday from people who believe they are addicted to the computer.

I'm with you on this one- I find it alot harder to sit at a computer whether it is mylot or any other site- when it's nice out- It is summer- I am outside playing- we have taken 2 vacations already- and planning a couple of more- Yes my paypal account is feeling the lack of my computer time also- but my heart and family are happy!

I would have to say I blame the summer. I like being outdoors and it is even hard for me to stay inside and do my housework. Of course, it is just me and my husband since my son has been married for about thirteen years now. This summer I have been going to the pool a lot since I enjoy swimming. I went to your blog and those flowers are very beautiful so you can blame it on the flowers and nature. I actually think the dog ate the computer is a good one. lol

Oh it was so much easier with 2 in the house opposed to the 6 now and only half doing any work - can't believe this but my 16 year old problem child son is doing more to help such as mowing 3 acres of yard than my daughter and her fiance (21 and 22). I never realized how lazy my own daughter has gotten. I liked the dog one too except we don't have a dog - chickens, rabbits, and 2 cats right now, oh opps and fish - that's it, the fish ate my computer.

My--you certainly have been missing in action...LOL--I'm trying to do a balancing act here on the computer.....I found myself spending maybe just a tad bit too much time here, not that I'm complaining as I do love it here...but I really had to buckle down and get my assets hauling and doing my photo-related work--mainly the "paperwork" involved...you see, even though I naturally have the photos I've scanned listed in my pictures folder, I also wanted a "hard-copy" version I could print up--nice and BORING kind of work...so I've been catching up in doing that...once finished doing a listing of that, plan to resume scanning again..and have the sense to do the hard copy listing as I go along instead of piling up so much....Also I'm vowing to myself, to at type in at least one page of one of my stories I had started to write some time ago in long hand into the computer.. Uh--don't stay away from us for too long...okay? Can you give an up-date about your son?? Any good news there?? Still have my prayers for you

Wow, I never thought of making a hard copy of my photos. I don't have anything like yours but it might be a good habit for me to get into just incase I do 'improve' in that area and start actually producing something. My big thing has been 'crafts' - new ideas and projects, orders for baby afghans and trying to get some stock ahead so I can spend a few weekends at craft shows. I made the same 'vow' as you that I was going to do at least a page a day on my 'book' but that lasted a couple weeks and now find it's been several months since I've worked on it. At the rate I've been going for the last 20 years I may be ready for publishing about the time I'm 250 years old... As for my son - Tuesday he meets with the Probation officer and the 7th of next month he goes for final sentencing which will be based on what the probation officer says... I have to admit he's actually been pretty good around here, helping with tasks around here like mowing the lawn without even being asked, hauling mulch for flower beds (particularly the new addition to the yard, The Bird Sanctuary). This evening he spent some time in the shop and built a rack for me to hang some jewelry pieces to dry after I dip them in polyurithane. I really really appreciate the prayers - they are needed and I believe helping.

To quote you...."At the rate I've been going for the last 20 years I may be ready for publishing about the time I'm 250 years old..." I can't agree here more....LOL....Too bad stories can't type themselves into a computer... Glad you gave me an up-date about your son....my prayers as I said will continue that all will work out in Divine Order...

i think i owe the responsibility for the loss in my earnings, last month my schools were closed, all i had was lot of fun, travelling etc. etc., now it seems so difficult for me to spend an hour even on mylot i.e., difficult still to return to my regular routine.

Hello Faith, lovely to see you. I've been passing on emails to you, hope you're receiving same. I still sit here as always, it's winter here and not so nice outside, albeit the last couple of days have been okay without the icy winds blowing. I seem to spend more time following links and trying to catch up so I'm not posting much, it doesn't seem so important now because I know I won't make payout this month. Keep doing what you enjoy the most. Your life sounds quite nice at the moment except for the 'lists' part. LOL.

I think that it is much harder to work online in the summer time as there are so many other things outside that I would rather do. Today is a nice fall day here and I have not gotten to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. I believe that we all need to work but I also don't think that we should feel guilty if we don't make as much money on days that it is just too nice to be inside.
