Do you keep a pen?

Dear friends, do you keep a pen with you when you go outside your house? I invariably keep a pen in my pocket while going to office, market or at any other place and I have found that it comes as handy tool for writing, when in public places, like Banks, Post Offices and other outlets. I have found that many people do not keep it...and in case of need...they keep asking others to lend their pens. What about you....do you always keep it with you...or you believe in asking others for a small thing i.e. pen? Please share your views and expeirences with me. Thanks!

Yes I prefer to keep a pen wherever I go. May it be a mall or a church or a market, I prefer to have a pen with me. I also keep a piece of paper, nail cutter and little flashlight with me. I dont know, I just think that there would be a time that I would be needing it. I believe that there are things that we should always keep with us wherever we will go.

deepak, this is a very apt post, i must say. i bet, pen is the most important thing and we cannot manage with any substitute. so, if even we can manage with our hand instead of writing paper (which, i feel awful though), we just cannot do without a pen/ pencil and such. as for me, i am meticulous enough to keep a good pen in my bag but in time of need i just would not get hold of it. my bag is a labyrinth carrying everying from pins to cow, lol..so you can imagine, i have a hard time getting one at the right time. when i am in office i donot face any problem though.

Mimpi, Thanks for liking the post and for agreeing with me. You follow the right approach...and keeping a pen with us...saves us from the trouble of asking from others...and others may oblige us or not...depends upon them... All in all a very good response from you. I liked it...and you appear like me. I invariably keep a pen with me...even if I am going to buy vegetables....from the market...LOL! Thanks very much! I do always bring a pen and a piece of paper with me in my bag. Sometimes I actually bring more than one. I'm just ready for the emergency when I needed it.

Yeah, I always keep a pen. just in case I need it somewhere. I am shy at asking people for pens because of my line of work, I need to have my own pen. All my bags have pens in them. Plus I need to use a specific pen because I have trouble using other pens, specially when signing. =)

I always keep a pen in my pocket, even when I go outside the house. I don't bother others by borrowing for I always have my own. I don't want to disturb others just merely bu asking them a small thing.

I try my very best to keep a pen with me every where that I go. You never know what you may need it. Especially when making unexpected stops at places like a bank or post office. I like to have my items ready to be handed to the person behind the counter when I get there instead of waiting to get a pen and making them wait for me as well as any one that might be behind me.

I definitely need a pen when I step out of the house. You never know when you might need. I specially make it a point to check if I have a pen when I go to places where I might need it (bank). But now with a husband and a 7 year old, I find myself buying pens every other week and missing it right the next day!

I understand you take adequate precautions, so as not to caught off guard. It is better to keep a pen while going out, we never know, when it would become handy. Thanks for responding!

hmmm.. no i think. i keep a pen only when i m going outside to do some things which need me to go to offices. on shopping errands or visiting someone i don't do that.:) and to say honestly i don't mind asking someone else if i really do need a pen for my work..many a time a situation like this helps you meet new people or perhaps make new friends..i remember one time a girl asked me for my pen in my college. it was result day for juniors and she was one of them. she asked me to lend her my pen because she had to sign on something and her pen wasn't working. she was sad because she was a good student and her result came out to be very poor. she shared all her grief with me and that how hard her classmates were on her(here to mention she had some disabilities of neurological kind which made her eye moment and face expression weird). i felt so good talking to her and also to see her spirit, indipendence and self esteem. but unfortunately i didn't see much of her after that as she left our college.. by the way, it's not always good incidents which happen. one other time someone actually asked me for my pen and didn't even cared to return it!thank God it wasn't an expensive one!;) as for me i always make sure that i return it to the person from whom i lent it!:)

a large set of felt tip pens - I am an artist and have a large set of felt tip pens for drawing. Those are my favorate pens.
I keep a ball point pen in my purse for writing things down. I keep another at my desk for the same reason. I rarely ask for pens from other people, but sometimes, my pens misbehave. * I am an artist and have a large set of felt tip pens for drawing. Those are my favorate pens.

I always keep a pen in my handbag as i need to tick the date in my bus season card.Even if i forget to take it i dont mind asking someone for pen.Nothing wrong in asking pen from strangers but good manners is to return the pen again to them. But its always good that we keep one with ourselves since in crowded places like banks its quite difficult to get a pen from others as everyone will be in a hurry to complete their job and some dont show interest to lend pen to others.its embrassing sometime to keep on asking pen from one to another in places like this.I have seen some people voluntarily lend us their pen for us to use...

Suba, you are right, it is better to keep a pen, instead of asking others. We always feel safe...and secured...if the need to ask for pen etc. does not arise...the other person may or may not obliged. You are lucky that some people lend you their pen voluntarily! LOL! Good response.

I have pens but I don't use them any more. It is not very usual to use pen today because we have some better substitution. The bank will provide a pen for us, so it is not so necessary to keep a pen with us.

If I go out for shopping, or casually to meet my friend, I do not keep pen in the pocket. Otherwise, I always carry a pen, handkerchief, some cash too.

Hi there.. I don't keep pens in my pocket.. Keeping pens in my jeans pocket was my habit only during the college days, when we used to be in a need of a pen wherever we went... But now, I don't keep it in the pockets.. I jst carry them in my bag when I go to office... And while I am going outside at sm place other than my office, I don't find the need to carry one, as most of the time if I have to note down smthing, I do it on my pda which is always with me...

I always keep a pen in my bag. It can be quite useful. Examples woukld be when I am at my daughters swimming & I need to record her times. Or when I meet other people with whom I need to exchange ohone numbers, etc. It can be useful in post offices when their biros don't work. Certain children in my house biro my pens & don't return them, so now I have told them to use their own. I am sure they are going to tellme they can't find theirs!

I do keep a pen with me whenever I go out. I always make it a habit to put one in my bag. During weekdays when I go to the office, I carry a minimum of 3 pens with me. So when I reach inside my bag, I can easily get one if I need it. I feel odd when I don't have a pen with me, I don't know but I feel that it's as important as carrying a hanky at all times. :)

I always put ballpens and papers in my bag everytime I go to somewhere else. They're very useful indeed. It's nice to be prepared at all times. I remember that during my gradeschool and highschool days, i would put a pencil, an eraser, a ballpen and a comb [too, hehehe] in my pocket! and the teacher will notice us that we were really prepared! =)
