State of the nation Address, Is there new?

I really stopped watching that SONA of our president here in the philippines, because there's nothing to watch actually but all the lies so that their names will smell good to the public to win another election. But the people wanted to know the real score no matter how bad the state of the Philippines. How can there be a smart solution to a problem if they will just hide the true problems of the Philippines. I would rather hear the bad situation of the country than hear all the lies. If the president will have a courage to tell the problems of this nation, then, I will salute her for that. We all know that the situation in the Philippines are so bad, poverty, corruption, crimes, election fraud... these are just few. But we the Filipinos want to hear it from them, and what will be their solution- long term- to these problems.

Regardless of what Arroyo will say tomorrow in the SONA, i still think she has done a better job so far, as compared to her predecessor, Erap. By the way, will it be a public holiday? or half day tomorrow?

I was not able to watch the whole speech myself I just tried to listen to some parts which interest me but I did not really watch every inch of her speech. For me awareness as to what this present administration is trying to pursue is enough for me to be aware of. At least there something to watch if she could deliver it or not.

stating the problems to us filipinos is not a solution to those problems. and besides for me, no one must state those coz we already know what are the problems. if a person's mind would be closed on anything that our leader would say or have done for the progress, then he/she doesnt really want any improvements for our country. the SONA yesterday is STRONG. the views of our president for our country are detailed and vey concrete. have you seen a SONA on any country that a president told "wala akong nagwa" ? or said "wala nang pag-asa"? President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is respectfull from what she has done and had shown to the Filipinos and the Nation. She cant please anybody but she doesnt mind it. She just do her responsibilities as a president and do her duty despite of any political and even personal disturbance.

So, I listened to the Presidents SONA yesterday, and she mentioned a lot of infrastructure and projects that she has either started or about to start. Its begs the question, where is the money for all those things going to come from? We all know that the BIR is not efficient when it comes to collecting taxes especially from the rich. I hope we are not going into debt again because of that. One other thing, she made a statement "i will not stand in the way of anyones ambition" Does that mean she will not run for reelection? She also called on congress to pass the cheaper medicines bill....helllloo....its about time! Some data she presented, especially about the graft and corruption rate in country, seems questionable. E.g she said conviction rate of the Obudsman was now 77% as compared to 6% from last time.....hmmmm....doesnt exactly sound right. That means half the politicians should have been charged or behind bars by now! Overall, the speech wasnt a bad one. Lets just hope she lives up to her promises. "The State of the Nation Is Strong!"
