OK so my family and I went camping with my little sister and her family. So in total there were 15 people on this little 2 night 3 day camping trip. And it was really fun and my kids for it being there first time camping did so well. But here's the problem we all had bug spray and we continued to spray ourselves regularly. And still we got completely covered in mosquito bites. And 11 all of the kid got bitten up really bad. So I was wondering what the best thing might be to stop the itching? And maybe somebody knows a better way to keep the bugs away from us all? Thanks in advance for reading and helping.

The thing we use to use was calamine loting for the itching. Lanacaine or hydrocortizone cream also works. To keep the bugs off of us we where advised to use bug spay with DEET in it. I know deet is not the safest thing to put on our bodies but we have west nile virus here in our area. We have to be careful. The picture of the kids where cute.

I know all I could think of was the West Nile Virus.

Oh no—that is one of the worse parts about camping- BUGS-- We went camping also last weekend- 4 families- it was so much fun- we go every year- we take lots of citronella candles, bug spray, and citronella lanterns- plus we have the camp fire going the entire time- I think I might have gotten bit once- I think with all the smoke- and the candles and bug spray we were in luck- Where did you camp? That is another big thing- we went to a camp ground- so they might also do something for the bugs- I use benadryl when I get bit up- the cream- it’s the best for itching! Glad you guys had fun- and I hope you go with your family lots more-

Where we went was a park really. Its called the county Park and I dont think they do anything about the bugs there. I will get me some of those candles next time.

Have you tried the Skin So Soft Bug Guard from Avon? It works pretty well. If you have an Avon rep in your area, you might try that. It's worth a shot. And if it doesn't work, you can give the bottle to your Avon rep and give 100% of your money back.

Any thing with deet will keep bugs away. Another thing you might want to thank of is a bug tend. I is like having your own screened in porch no matter where you go. Aloe is the best thing for itching. It is all natrual and it will help with any scaires.
