Should chronic drug addicts be paid for voluntary sterilization?

That's a VERY dangerous proposition. The US in particular had a terrible, racist eugenics program in some areas that lasted into the '70s. This was to get "undesirables" out of the gene pool; of course it was based on faulty science. It fell on the poor, the sick, and minorities, and we should be careful about doing such things again. Remember Hitler?

Temporary should be encouraged, but it's too tempting for some people to have that permanent option.
