Media Information on Latest Food Recall.

Is it just me or is anyone else not amazed at the lack of media blitz on this subject?? I have not seen or heard anything on TV about this recall which was said to be urgent. Have I missed it or is the media only interested in reporting the bad behaviour of celebrities. Some people have been wondering if all these recent potential deadly food recalls could be planned by our enemies. Is this information being suppressed? What do you think?

I do not think that the food problems are due to enemy work. The different causes are too varied. Lumpy baby cereal, contaminants traced to China, chemicals in toothpaste, and botulism from failure to can meat at a high enough temperature. I think America has gotten careless in inspections, and precautions. We are lazy and spoiled, and have no memory of what it was like when foods and medicines were still of questionable quality. On the other hand, I am surprised that we have not heard more about the Castleberry situation. Is it because it is not a major, nationally recognized brand? Is it because generally, at least where I live, it is far from a high end name brand. It is 'cheap' and therefore we should expect it to be of inferior quality. ( I do not believe this, but perhaps the media does) Maybe we are becoming indifferent because it has happened so much lately.

I have bought Castleberry before, and I am not meaning that the people are less careful, but that the media cares less about it because it is not Hormel, or Armour, or Tyson, or Gerber. I think people who work in repetitive manufacturing can more or less become hypnotized about the work.

Could be. Perhaps cheaper brands use cheaper labor to produce their products but at the cost of human life.

I am one that is not all that impressed on how little coverage the food recalls are getting. This is something that is truly important and people need to know about, cause it is something that really could cost a person their life. Especially with the latest one dealing with Botulism. Truly it wouldn't hurt the media any if they for one day didn't relay the latest gossip of some celebrity that I just don't care all that much about. I really don't think any of these food recalls have any real link to what our enemies may have or may not have planned for us. I truly think that certain precautions aren't being followed as closely as they once were. Companies are just producing product as quick as they can and shipping it out, without really taking the time to making sure it is totally safe. Though all I know is that it is getting quite scary and something needs to be done about it quickly, because these are people's lives at stake here.

The first time I heard that the food was being pulled off selves was about a week ago from a phone call from my is in law said it was happening in Georgia . So I really thought notihng about it but I had noticed our store selves were more empmty than uauall but then we went later in the day than usual too so they might have just been shopped out. and we have not had any thing told about this here on the news in Vegas. So not sure what is going on. and all this reteric might be planned by enemies of ours

It's a theory, but I think it's just absent minded employees not paying attention to what they are doing, or trying to take short cuts. I do agree, there isn't much as far as the media warning us.

I am amazed, and confused. We have used Castleberry before. I luckily decided on Hormel chili the day before the recall came out. I am SOOO glad having been affected by the peanut butter recall I NEVER want to be that sick again! I have seen a couple of news clips about this but not as much buzz as should be going on over it. I have not heard WHAT is recalled except Castleberry's beef stew and chili. I wonder if anyone has a link to a site that lists all that was affected by the recall.

That is surprising. Judging by the information you provided us with the other day about this food recall, I would thought it would have received huge publicity. ASfter all, botulism, a deadly disease was involved, not to say the least of thousands of products that should be returned. I am really surprised. Do you really think there has been suppression of news over this incident? I guess it could be a kind of terrorist plot, to try & poison the food supply? Keep us updated on this, as we haven't seen it in the media here.

I too am concerned about the lack of publicity on this one. Many in my small town have heard nothing about it!!! Many here do not have or no how to use a computer..so reading about these things online is not going to happen. Our local TV news nor our little local newspaper have said nothing about it!!! I have told so many people and they are astounded!

I haven't heard a thing about this on the news at all - if you hadn't posted it I would have never known. This is absolutly outrageous- I just got canned food for my dogs last Friday- what if something happens- ugh- grrrrrrrr - this pisses me off!!!!

I think that the media is either singularly wrapped up on its own importance or has been forced to maintain a low profile on this story. I can understand the low profile if it is being treated as a possible threat to national security, but it doesn't explain why people are not being warned in case they have already bought contaminated food. I really don't understand anything about the entire issue...it is being handled very badly that much I do know.

Funny you should ask this question, as I too, was wondering what was going on? First our lettuce, then Taco Bell, then the pet food, then cans of chili sauce (which I heard on the radio from a Canadian station and my local news channel for one day) after years of eating foods with no problems we now have all these recalls, it's too coincidental for me. Hard to tell what truth is being told.
