Well last nite i was getting my little one ready for her bath. I took off her clothes and told her to go in the bathroom. On the outside of the bathroom door i have a full length mirror. As i was about to go into the bathroom she is standing there in the mirror looking at herself. I look over at her, and this is what she said to me " Momma, your're not as pretty as me." Can you believe that!!! I stood there looking at this cute little thing and didn't know what to say!! I tell you, the things that come out of the mouths of children!! gotta lov'em. at least that is what i have been told. LOL LOL LOL

I can just imagine her standing there then turning around with a serious face and saying that - if my husband heard that he would burst out laughing for sure. YOu just made my day!

Oh my-- how cute- Little ones are sure cute- and did you say I know honey- You are the cutest in the whole wide world- I would have- I tell my daughter all the time how beautiful she is- She is 10- I think it is so important to tell our girls they are pretty- build up their self confidence- they need it- What a cutie your daughter is!

yes i let her know that she is beautiful and smart all the time. but to tell me that she is prettier then me was such a wow. but you have to love the ego on this little lady. and thank you for the cutie comment we think so too, and so does she!! LOL

That is too cute! I think it is funny the things children think of and voice their opinion! You know that she didn't meant to hurt your feelings, but it did just the same! I needed a good laugh, and this was it! Thanks for sharing!

i am glad that i can make you laugh! i love the honesty of children, and i know that she is not trying to hurt my feelings. she is just being herself. i think as adults we forget to be that honest and tend to start sugar coating the truth bored-line not even being honest at all

Yeah I have a 3 year oldwho is alsways saying something cute. The other day she saw mw standing in my room wearing a bra and she pointed at it and said, "Booby traps, Mommy!" I have no idea where she heard it, but evidently she thought that's what booby traps are! LOL

HAHA, that is cute. Did you smack her little behind for that? Of course not! You should of laughed it off and told her that she got her good looks from YOU! Or better yet, tell her well honey, there is this thing called genetics and chances are you will end up looking like me when you are older so you better watch what you say!

She problably heard another child say it, and thought she'd give it a try on you.. (:
They sure say the craziest things.. I"m sure she'll turn around with the same breath and tell you how pretty you are.. that's how my son is.. he likes to mix his insults with his compliments. (;

see my boys use to say that to me all the time. but girls are so different. my boys thought i was just the most wonderful thing in the world. but this one, she just thinks she is the hottest thing on the block. your son is not lying, he thinks his momma is the prettiest girl in the world

I would have done the same thing, look at her with amazment and my Jaw down to the floor... at that age its cute... wait until she gets 25 then we have a problem LOL

How funny!! What a cutie!!!
Don't they just make us feel so good about ourselves. Its a good job we grow a thick skin when we have our kids, otherwise we would all be in counselling by now.
