Ok here is a stupid question

What in the world does "sock" mean? I have seen this in tags of what looks like spam maybe, but I don't know what it means. Can someone please help me cause I am at loss here. Have you noticed this, or is it just me?

Sounds kind of "Fishy" to me as I only know of sockeye salmon.LOL. Here is the real definition: A "sock" (derived from the idea of a "sock puppet") is an individual who posts to the forums using two or more different screen name accounts. Sock behavior is not permitted. http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jspa?threadID=233845

I just read through the entire thread because I had no idea what sunshine was talking about but now I do and I don't feel so "tag illiterate". Thanks folks.

I don't know...I don't think I've ever noticed it before. I don't know what 'phishing' means and that makes me feel stupid.

Phisting is when you get phony email and they are "fishing" for your personal, bank and other potentially dangerous information.

After reading your discussion my brain is going sock...apparal on the foot...I've heard people say; "Put a sock in it" to someone who was annoying them....but I didn't think either of these explainations were the point of your question. I read the responses of other members...and was glad to learn what it really means...and that people who have been banned come back under another identity. Thanks for posting the discussion...and for having informed people to answer the question for you, me...and others who associate socks with something we wear on our feet. Good talking points...much appreciated.

I have no idea. That is a strange way to tag. Perhaps, it means something to the person who did the tagging. I have not noticed this personally. I will keep an eye out for it now.
