When washing a car by hand, I will use scrunched up news paper to dry all the streaks off and amazingly it works, it works better then any fluff holding material... Try it out...

I used scrunched up newspaper to clean all our windows and mirrors as well as our computer screen after first wiping them with a damp cloth of vinegar and water. It is much cheaper and safer than Windex. I learned about this when I was in my early twenties. I was staying with this lady because it was closer to my work and I would not have to take the bus for that long. She was really thrifty, well more than normal and was always trying to squeeze a penny into a nickel.

Thanks for the tip. My sons keep on mucking up my windows in the car that it is so hard to see out of. I windex it with a cloth but it just seems to swirl the smudges around and I am left with tons of streaks. I get free newspapers that I can use that would be free and would definitely help! Vicki

Yes, i have been using newspaper to clean windows since i first got told of this cleaning method when i was a teen. I find it an effective and free way to clean windows and it is also great to use on top of the stove. It removes grime very easily and soaks up alot of the fatty acids lying aroung on your cooker. I would also recommend the small car sponge blocks that clean windows very well indeed.

Hi. Using newspaper for cleaning glass eg; windows, doors etc, is a very old method and has been around for years... Yes I agree, it is awsome to use on your stove, if your have glass top and exposed elements, it does soak up fatty tissue, inside and outside the oven... Thanks for your comment...

Hi. Sure is amazing, yet an old method, simple paper, that usually becomes junk, could be put to good use with awsome results... Thanks for your comment...

Wow, who'd have thought something so simple, so basic, so everyday could help. I hate cleaning glass especially my car and I always end up with horrible streaks either on the inside or out and glass is a nightmare as we have two glass coffee tables. Thank you I will try that out, silly question but the print off the paper won't transfer to the glass will it. Sorry, just a thought!

We have done this forever. It really does work well. It doesn't leave lint on your windows like paper towels do.

Yes. Paper is a good cleaner for glass and cars etc. While washing oily vessel or bottle, clean with paper first and then it is easy to wash.
