Can anyone tell me about the guinea pig life span. How much they life. Maximum life of guinnea pig ever?

Well cared for, guinea pigs will live 5 to 8 years (provided they don't have genetic defects or have some type of accident). I think the oldest guinea pig I've had was nearly 9 years old. I've heard of them living to 10 years old. Definitely check out www.guinealynx.info to learn more about guinea pig care to increase the chances of your guinea pigs living longer.

they say that guinea pigs are short-lived... but i had one guinea pig back then, he lived for about 2-3 years.

That's very short. Hamsters live around 2-3 years, but guinea pigs live longer with proper care (diet of mostly hay and veggies, large enough clean cage, a friend since they're social, vet visits, etc.).
