Well, it will be 5 weeks this next monday since i had a cigarette, I feel ok and am happy i quit. However, i have heard people restart after this date and just wondered how long it will be before i can consider myself a non-smoker?

I know this is a month old discussion but I wanted to say congradulations on quitting and ask how it is going. I take it one day at a time and it is a struggle I quit for a week and then started again. I am going to keep trying. good luck to you.

i smoke ocasionally but when i say i quit smoking i quit.i think its depend upon the personality of a people, as for me its bad for my health and during my smoking times i'd feel weak and always coughing that's why i stop it.its no good for me.

well.. i can't tell because i totally don't smoke and so as my husband.. no one smokes in our house and am thankful for that, especially we have our baby to take care of... well, to those smokers, i think, self discipline is the answer for that..

Congratulations!! I would say that you officially are a non-smoker if that is how you feel. Some would go with ex-smoker, or reformed-smoker, but in my opinion it is best to call it what it is in order to remove the temptation of ever smoking again. Non-smokers just don't smoke...but an ex or reformed smoker makes it sound like the possibility remains that you could light up whenever you choose. Guess I am all about the positive thinking sometimes, but just call yourself what you are a proud non-smoker!
